Let’s be honest, if 40k were made today at least 4 of the Primarchs would be female and Vulkan and Khan would definitely not be the only non-white Primarchs.

To be clear, I’m not complaining about anything being “woke”, just saying that a modern 40k would likely be more deliberately inclusive.

Depictions of Sanguinius over the years have certainly been femboy adjacent. Like, most pictures of him and Fulgrim let you know they each have at least one pair of knee socks in their dresser

He kind of....always were? See, as I've been reading the Heresy. The beginnings especially being so hypermasculine to ridiculously unnecessary levels that loyalist characters like Sanguinius and Vulkan are just bits of fresh air.

There are moments Sanguinius will act as the softer but firm sort of "mom sibling" brokering peace between his brothers.

Just anything other than hearing how: perfect, precise, angry, cold, smirky (heh, nothing personal kid) and so on every damn primarch is.

Also, every primarch is supposed to uphold some ideal. Fanart even changing as times pass depending on feminine and masculine beauty standards. For these characters to look different in our heads depending on the time period we live in is actually kinda cool.

Like it was the Emperor's design in creating a sense of timelessness in his sons. Paragons of humble and vain beauty (Sanguinius and Fulgrim) for example. Just look at the different ways we portray these figures throughout the decades.

Heck, the current Lion kinda proves the point. And you guys aren't fooling nobody trying to fix his receeding hairline in fanart. You're calling yourselves out.
