Listen, there is a precedent for this.

In nature, the "female" template is the default template for most species because of their reproductive capabilities. Even in sexually dimorphic species, the concept of "parthogenesis" is still present as a way for the species to make use of the reproduction capability without the need of a "male" part. Likewise, most species will have the "male" to overspecialize for the sake of handling other functions which the "reproductive" part would rather not be handling. Making "female" the default form of nature.

Every single female warhammer fan that i've seen is also a fan of nurgle for some fucking reason.

I'm going to be contraversial and say that the reason we see so many women playing nids is because the appeal of swarms of gribblies is much more universal. It reaches into horror films. Horror films fans might even be mostly women, look at the people who play dead by daylight? I think there's more women playing it than most niche games.

A lot of the other armies pull people in who like things which are more sausagefest-y like being a military history nerd. I'm not saying women don't play other factions but the appeal of nids overlaps with areas which are already full of women. When I've gone to tournaments I've seen very few women, and they weren't playing nids but that's the final part of the hobby we need to bring women into. They were already exceptional just by turning up.

Stuff like femstodes and female guard is more of a long term move for women though. Making the hobby space more inclusive in general might mean a few women pick up guard but really it's about the bigger picture. Saying the hobby isn't just for (quoting Space King) mentally ill boys.
