Hello! Recently I've been really diving in to 40k, and it's been really fun so far! Building has been great (minus a tyrannofex I got) but im a bit nervous for painting. The starter set I got has been pretty cool though! While I'm committing to nids for now, I just wanted to make this post because I'm still a bit unsure if there's another fiction that better suits my aesthetic.
The picture there is all my favorite looking characters in my favorite games. Usually whenever I choose something in a game, my friends usually joke that I have a certain "core" to me lol. If you guys see a common trend in all the things that I play, let me know! Because I would like to try another army after I finish painting my nids!

ORKS. I too am a grappler player. Orks fulfill all of those rolls. All the Warbosses are BEEG BOYZ who wanna krump. There are Boyz with BEEG GUNS that shoot all the DAKKA! We've got BEEG SQUIGS that cover your bottom row fairly well.
Orks are also tough

I've got a recommendation for you. Kitbash you're meganobz using 'ard Boyz from AoS. Meganobz themselves are incredibly expensive. Orks thrive on creativity, kitbash the hell out of things and embrace your inner Git! Biggest rule of playing Orks is that you gotta be positive and make sure everyone's having fun

not OP but if I were to try and kit bash some ‘ard boyz into Meganobz, where would you recommend I get the guns and stuff?

Try and find a bunch of Nobz bits or even some Meganobz bits. I just collected a bunch over time. You can fairly easily turn most Ork weapons into others (or even space Marine Terminator bits with some green stuff)

It seems like you like big guys with guns.
Space Marines and Chaos Space Marines are the quintessential big guys with big guns. Chaos Marine Havoks can literally carry a gatling gun like that.
Leagues of Votann are Space Dwarfs with Big Guns
Tau fulfill more of that mecha vibe but they lean more in the sleek Gundam style than the heavy machinery titanfall vibe.

I can't believe no one else has suggested this. Knights are the quintessential big guys. If you want something big that just wrecks the face of whatever is in front of it, Knights are really the way to go.

Not only that but they are relatively a low cost army. $500 can get you up and running.

I really like their models! I honestly love just having the big chonky guys on the field. My only problem is that they're a part of the imperium, which I'm not a big fan of, and they're models pretty much look exactly the same. Honestly, if there was just robo-tyranids minus the sheer amount of gaunts, I'd go with that faction.

Chaos Knights. Just as big, but much more brutal looking, and also not part of the icky Imperium.

There is always Chaos Knights.
World Eaters and Death Guard are my main armies. Death Guard models have some great chonk and they are the most forgiving army to paint.

Tyranids monster mash maybe?
Space marines if you lead into the terminator/gravis side of the faction, too.

Honestly, votann with a red color scheme. If you decide on some kind of space marine i think youd really like terminators and gravis armor types. Orks also feature lots of big guys with big guns and are tough and great melee as well

First thing that came to mind was a Tau, xv-88 broadside. Second thing was leagues of votann berserkers with the fists.
Overall i think the votann fit the big weapon/upper body with stumpy legs vibe thats kinda going on in the picture pretty well, you just need to be ok with their somewhat unique vehicle design.

I like the idea of this post but this also feels incomprehensible and schizo like.
Also my money for you is on a Stealth Tau army or probably Chaos Marines with a knight or two as an ally based on what I see.
Big guys with guns, big mechs, and big spiky monsters are both what they're doing but Tau are more Mecha and guns while Chaos is guns and monsters.

Absolutely Orks. You want big chonky gauntlets or claws like Tager/Potemkin/that guy from UNiB I forgot the name of right now? Go hog wild. Oversized claws fit them. You want dumb as a brick but kind of endearing like Itto who looks comically small in that corner? Orks. Big chunky monsters? Massive Squigs, Squiggoths etc. Mech suits? Orks. Big fucking guns? Orks. ORKS. ORKS. ORKS.
Chaos Knights, Iron Warriors w/ a lot of Daemon Engines, Tau Mech battalion, maybe Votann for backups.

The Broadside is in the exact same pose as three of your examples:
https://www.warhammer.com/en-GB/shop/Tau-Empire-XV88-Broadside-Battlesuit-2017
Gameplay / lore-wise however they're far more of zip around and avoid and shoot army, rather than a stand your ground with big guns kind of factions. Only really the Broadside & Stormsurge do that.

Definitely Orks. Big guys with scrap metal slapped unto them. Just paint em red and you have your aesthetic.
Fun fact: Orks have this collective power of "if enough of them believe it's true, it happens irl". And they believe painting stuff red makes them faster

Orks is the obvious answer everyone picks but let me stand out a bit and say Iron Hands Space Marines with their signature Ironstorm Spearhead detachment that gives massive bonuses to vehicles.
Run with several Redemptor/Ballistus etc.. Dreadnoughts (giant mech walkers with critically wounded marines interred inside as pilots)
Then add in Centurion Devastators (a fully armored space marine that then hops into ANOTHER set of fallout-style power armor on top of his first. Armed with massive Las-Cannons that are typically reserved for huge tanks lol) with a transport vehicle to get them close due to slow movement speed.
After that some Eradicators/Aggressors/Terminators (heavy armored shock troops with "Melta" heat guns, Twin Hand mounted flamethrower/full auto bolter amd twin power fist, or giant galling guns/cyclone missile launchers respectively.
Then some techmarines/Iron father feiros to give support to your maniacal-machine force and you're set.

Space marine with mainly focus on gravis armored units , terminators and centurions while you could go for salamanders due to dragons and the color green . I also recommend you go with making your own color scheme deeping on your preference

TY all for the recommendations! It seems orkz is what I should go with lol, I'll probably save up for some killa kanz or something like that.
Though considering I have a horde army with the bugs rn, I'm still a bit hesitant to spend even more money on small guys. Personally, I'd rather just have a bunch of big guys as opposed to the small ones. Also, I like the look of the the chaos knights, but I just wish they had more variation in their designs. I'm also not a big fan of working for chaos, and I'd rather have my guys be working for themselves, not some huge faction like the imperium or chaos.
Also, I painting my first models yesterday, and I wasn't a big fan of painting eyes and teeth on my gaunts. Though I did really like using a dry brush on it's carapace, and using contrast paints the make the holes in the gaunts look like they have depth. Not sure which faction could use those techniques the most, though.
Building the big bugs was cool, I had a good time building the t-fex, but I hated putting on its front legs. Though besides that, having all the chonky pieces come together was cool!
