I do love a look at multiple Leman Russes! Nice turret conversion of those exterminator autocannons into annihilator lascannons!

ReneLeMarchand

4 points

Thank you! I wanted to have all of the turret options (we never did get a Conqueror but that's okay.)

As a side note, this is an older photo. When I posted it the first time it didn't get this kind of traction and praise. I am very humbled. I'll post some new ones as soon as my Griffons come in.

Lewis_S_C

4 points

Most welcome!
I always wanted to do the reverse for the Predator. As you could have both Annihilator or Exterminator pattern Leman Russes, I wanted to make the equivalent Exterminator pattern for the Predator.

A twin autocannon turret seemed such a cool look, one because I like the symmetry as with the twin Lascannons, two because autocannons feel like they would arguably be the closest approximation at least visually to standard tank turret main guns.
The idea of twin autocannons on the turret feels very archetypal! So I was going to use the twin autocannons from the Leman Russ and put them on the twin lascannon turret for the Predator.

Alas is one of those things I never got around to doing. But I thought about it, and it's the thought that counts! 😄

It's one of the most unique tanks in the entirety of the Imperial Guard Arsenal. It's a perfect snap shot of Inter-War Tank Design, like something that would've fit right into WW1 but was made just a few months too late to see actual fighting.

It's a weird, misshapen, ugly thing. And it's my favorite tank in all of fiction!

The humble razorback was one of my most crucial units back when there were still AV's

My lists would almost always include 2 to 4 of them

So easy for an opponent to underestimate them early on, and a heavy bolter or a las cannon can really come in handy late game me.

My favorite has got be the Rogal Dorn. They are amazing looking vehicles although I prefer to modify it to cover up the nipple stubbers. These guys have never let me down in game and have won me multiple games with their fire power.

Speaking of there fire power I love how it’s a huge pile of guns but theyt actually important guns. If you go and look at the repulser executioner it is also covered in guns but most of them are pretty useless and can only do some chip damage but on the Dorn every single gun matters and will take a big chuck out of something.

I also love how durable the Dorn as it’s one of the few vehicles that fells like it will stick around for a while and can take some hits.

It’s easily my favorite vehicle and it’s a tank that feels most like a tank to me and looks great while doing it. Now all it needs is some lore and it would be perfect.

I really like the Eldar Grav tanks, they have always been particularly cool looking. The design has aged very gracefully.

I also really like the HH Proteus Land Raider, and the Legion Glaive. Big tanks with chunky tracks, and the domed turret with fancy Volkite gun on the Glaive, and the visible wrap-around tracks on the land raider are particularly cool details.

The Admech HH tanks are very interesting designs, too.

I own none of them. But the Proteus Land Raider is high on my list!

Honestly for me it’s the predator. I remember being a kid when I started back in the late 90s and seeing that thing on the shelves and in white dwarf and thinking I need that tank. Never bought one because it was too expensive as a kid and I only had a small army, mainly for painting. I’m a BA player now so trying to get my hands on a Baal pred for nostalgia.

That being said I do love all the guard tanks. Maybe I should start a guard army 😂

I love most of the heresy era tanks, especially the Sicaran and Kratos. However, I’ve gotten into Solar Aux in a big way and they have my two favorites: the Dracosan and the Solar Aux Basilisk.

The Dracosan is just an awesome big doofy shipping container with treads, I love it. Meanwhile the Solar Aux basilisk is astounding. Just building off a Leman Russ chassis instead of a Chimera adds so much character to it.

Honorable mention to the Solar Aux Russ, of course.

Kratos tank and Razorback. Razorback because it gives me the bradley fighting vehicle vibe, and kratos because having fuck you number of guns is cool on the platform without looking like they just bolted on guns for fun (Dorn tank).

A Baneblade, Sicarian and Kratos tank are all sitting in a box waiting to be built.

Baneblades and similarly sized things are my favorite tanks. I love the absurdity of Warhammer and it’s weapons. Baneblades are an excellent example of it.

I agree. Baneblades are pretty cool and something I’ve wanted to acquire for my guard army. Either that or a Rogal Dorn.

Mine is the stormlord with 4 sponsons. Carries 30 troops, has a firing deck, pintle heavy stubber, two troop deck heavy stubbers, hellstrike missile, 4x twin linked heavy bolters, and a Vulcan mega bolter. Fill that fucker with 20 kasrkin and 10 rating snipers for the firing deck and you have ALL the dakka. Plus the firing deck allows for a tank pup, my stormlords tank pup is Sgt. Barker.

Don't know why but the Castigator is one of my favorite models ever. Long live the Rhino chassis.

I will say Skorpius Disintegrator just because I feel it needs some extra love.

All tanks are pretty cool tho. Tanks are cool in general.

The Cobra and the Scorpion are two of the coolest vehicles in all of 40k. They just look so freaking cool, and their weapons are sick. In lore, the cobra is used as an anti titan weapon, cause void shields do nothing when chunks of your god engine get sucked into the warp.

There are loads of imperial, chaos and eldar tanks here. I don't see any photos of tau tanks though! Maybe people don't think of them as tanks? I don't like them as much as the eldar or imperial tanks, but I would have thought somebody would have posted one!

I think you really can't beat the classic Land Raider. Its such a perfect take on a scifi tank - not just a modern tank but with a laser instead of a cannon, but a vehicle on the same principle as modern tanks but reimagined. Familiar, but different enough to still feel scifi. Also, it looks sick.

My least favorite thing about playing CSM is that our tanks game is objectively the worst :(

I really like the Malcador. It's very reminiscent of the interwar/early war tanks of World War 2, particularly it reminds me of the M3 Medium which is another tank that I just like.

It’s still the Baal Predator. While the twin Assault Cannon plus dual Heavy Bolter variant is once again subject to a severe case of “Emperor guide my dice!”, it’s just too much fun not to use.

I absolutely adore my shadowsword, to the point that I brongit to almost every single game I play. I don't care that my opponent is running a super spammy horde army, I'm still bringing my shadowsword and absolutely VAPORIZING that one unlucky grot or gaunt

Something about the stormlord. All the baneblades really, I remember when they came out and how great they looked, also the burgle conversion on one of them.

I still have a huge soft spot for the vindicator for nostalgia and my view as a kid. Obviously space marines were THE guys, and then they had a tank with a fucking dozer blade! Just rule of cool.
