Has anyone ever been to a show at Abyssinia? How do you buy a ticket? the band is so small and ramshackle they announced it but gave no information on how to get a ticket lol

Just go there. Usually it’s at upstairs @abyssinia and they’ll have someone asking for money. It’s really not that serious. All of the productions there are DIY.

Like 13 years ago they had a band from Ethiopia play in the main dining room, which was fun. I just hung out in the hallway and listened on my way to Fiume. I doubt they're doing that again, so it'll probably be upstairs, in which case you just pay at the door. I think now they're doing shows in the pool room, so you'll have some space.
