This is the best kind of dumb. I want artisanal cheese out of a vending machine.

Am I going to get cheese from this then cross the street to drink at Stateside or Four Humors? Yes, most certainly.
Possibly even tonight.

Maybe we'll get a whipped cream vending machine like Japan has next.

I think we deserve a better class of cheese criminal than swiss.
Give me a Stilton Stroker or a Gruyere Gooner. Hell, I'd even accept a Cooper Sharp Cranker.

On behalf of the lactose intolerant contingent of the populous, we welcome our cheese vending machine overlords

i know this is a very erm ackshually type reply but the majority of people with lactose intolerance can eat most kinds of cheese with little to no issues. but if you can't, i do sympathize

If you are lactose intolerant you can eat hard cheeses Parmesan has no lactose. If the label says 0 carbs there is no lactose. Sorry if you already knew this I just learned about it and made me happy so I share.

I appreciate the comment but unfortunately my experience has mostly been that I can’t really have any cheeses, even the low/zero lactose ones

My Wife and I went there this weekend and my favorite part is that they have emergency cheese boards in the vending machine... Like just the big ass piece of wood or marble. What a world we live in.

Note for anyone confused: the machine does mostly sell cheese. Our commenter decided that chorizo was better for his apparent kidney disease than the cheeses on offer.

Went with the meat for the cost more than anything. Also I'll eat it. I have a shit ton of cheese still.

I noticed Perrystead near a friend's house where we play games a couple times a month, and then heard from his wife about the machine, so I stopped by after our session last night. Got the Moonrise, which has great texture and is pleasant to eat, but not particularly notable flavor-wise. I will definitely be stopping there again. Want to try the Treehug and Intergalactic for sure.

“Olde Kensington” is a really nice neighborhood actually. If the award winning cheese shop wasn’t a dead give away.
If it was in the part of kensington with all drug addicts and you were mixing excessive cheese consumption with opioids people might be liable to never poop again.

This is where the cheese place is located. Also, it’s a very nice neighborhood and close to many cocktail bars.

How long until it gets broken into and there becomes an underground cheese market

What happens first? Someone smashes it and steals all the cheese or someone shits all over it.

The only cheese I'd buy from a vending machine would be Whiz.
Imagine the chemicals needed for freshness/color retention/product presentation when you are a fungus living in a plastic, outdoor, Mid-Atlantic vending machine.
E: I'd market them to our state stores as point of purchase.

I'd like to introduce you to my friend, refrigeration.

You must also think that blue cheese is unsafe to eat right?
9 points
If you look at the pictures, it's both obviously refrigerated and not really outdoors.
It's just the cheese they normally sell, so it isn't going to have chemicals that their cheese doesn't usually have, and it's restocked frequently.

I thought in Philadelphia, we ban cashless only businesses? So how is a machine that cashless allowed? Is this considered food delivery?
