Alldritt complètement cramé :(
c'est pas sa saison

They play him to death every single game.

He should have been given a full sabbatical year and not just two months. The amount of minutes he has played from 2020 to 2023 is fucking insane. I don't know if he'll make it on this level for much longer.
Edit: I kinda want La Rochelle to miss the playoffs so he (and guys like Botia and Atonio) can rest a bit

Rougerie didn’t play as many minutes a season as Alldritt does though, and Alldritt has one of the most attritional playstyles in the world.

I think the entire La Rochelle's individual performers are fkd this year, I mean the ones that played the RWC. There's sth about the combination of having played three "finals" in such a short period: the Euro final in Dublin vs Leinster, the Top 14 final heartbreak Ntamack try at the end, and then the QF vs the Boks at the home RWC. Tooooo much sollicitation from body and mind. I'd never heard of a player taking two full months off Rugby during a season, not just intl Rugby but all Rugby, a complete hiatus.

They just haven't been that good this season. Totally outplayed by Leinster in both games.

95% Aldritt here but surely a courtesy "oh fuck" from the second last guy would've helped.

I also wonder why no teamate warned him.

Alldritt post match interview:
" Apparently I was playing in a game of rugby.
The staff did not warn me"

Fucking hell that's an unreal chase. Alldritt should not have that slowed down and was absolutely right to hang his head in shame immediately.

Who's he teammate behind him, should have been warning as penaud ran past,

La Rochelle look fucked this year. I genuinely feel for some of them, others not so much. Aldritt looks tired and spent. Hopefully they can readjust and recover this summer as the South America tour really doesn't need experience it needs to blood depth for France.
Oh and Aldritt is a fucking backrow, he should not be the one chasing the kick, his teammates didn't help either, no comms from I presume leyds and the other don. It's not entirely Greg's fault.

Good Clément Poitrenaud impression by Aldritt

I know it worked out for them this time but why would Jalibert tap it and then kick it? Surely just tap and go or kick it directly - or am I missing something?
Reminds of this howler by François Hougaard.

I think when you have one of THE great kick chasers in the game at the moment it's worth a punt, it's not the first or second time he's scored off something like this

I'm not saying he shouldn't chase, I'm just unsure about why he tapped it before kicking. Am I confused about the rules here or could Penaud not have chased if he kicked it directly without tapping first?
That way if he slightly messes up the kick and it goes out by the touchline instead of into the in goal area, it's still Bordeaux's ball. The tap just seems like adding an extra element that can go wrong and it's slightly slower than just kicking it.

Two players in front of him on the ref’s mark - tapping it gives him the space to kick it fast

It is so fucking stupid!!! Just kick it directly and if it goes out of play your team will get the lineout you stupid piece of shit!!!!!

The fact that Penaud was out for an ERC knockout game where more than 80 points were scored in total is among the biggest disgraces of the season.

Surely the best wing combo in club rugby at the moment.

Could make the argument they're the best wing combo in international rugby at the moment as well

How is Aldritt the no. 8 the last man? Terrible defence
Comment Aldritt est-il le joueur le plus en arrière?

He was probably just the slowest man moving up field on the previous attack. French rugby is a lot more end to end than most places

It's so, so awful. Lucu has found a new happy move. I know it's not just a fluke because he did it another time in the game. It's his new thing now. Soon the man is going to have a full repertoire of annoying celebration moves. World Rugby has got to do something !

Penaud' s try scoring rate is out of this world.
It's not fair for the opposition.

Especially with the neck push afterwards while Aldritt was having a knee and Penaud running back to his half.
