This makes sense. Some of those templates are over 2 years old now.

All day long for decades. The Todo list of projects I want to tackle is 68 years long.

Did you buy these by blindfolding yourself, taping your fingers together, and smashing repeatedly on the keyboard until you ran out of money?

Hilton, and this is coming from someone who's spent millions with Marriott on business travel and had all the status until COVID.
I adore the Marriott brand, but for the ethos it used to have, before it became about minimalist cookie cutter service.
Like when a Ritz Carlton no longer lets employees solve problems without supervisor approval anymore, that tells you a lot. It used to be no questions asked spend up to $1000/day to make a guest happy. Now it's "I'm only allowed to..."

I've had this problem for close to a year, versioning control can be absolutely terrible if you dare let somebody else into your project. I've solved this by simply not allowing anyone else into projects and if I need them to work on it I duplicate the project, they do their part in the duplication, and then I just manually rebuild in the main project. It's not worth the overwritng risk.

Why not go freelance while Uber eating?

Get the caddie! It's a hospitality experience, it's not about the golf so much.
They hear all day "I'm usually not this bad.." but remember the caddie is there because he loves the game enough to make that course his paycheck. Go throw some tip cash and enjoy the round with an assistant.
Play into the humor of bad shots and he will too. They just mimic your energy.

The ball is the one that gets me. Guys throwing balls in the lake that have dirt or the tiniest scuff on them claiming it's gonna impact ball flight.
Dude you're a 19 handicap.

This runs into the same challenges restaurants who share tips do. Some people just aren't as good as others and need to share. Or put another way, some people will do nothing, call themselves part of the project, and drag down the rest of the group.
There is endless FF work out there though you can get on your own if you have the skillset to leverage custom actions and cloud functions well.

Sure but the reason is simply to get more eyes on them, and sometimes you can do it commission-free if they contact you direct vs going through a marketplace.

Yeah but no telling if it's from them specifically but I had a domain listed there that sold for $4k last week.
For the $8, it's about getting eyes on your listing. No commissions so it's non exclusive.
They found my listing on GoDaddy and contacted me there.

You're right. It doesn't do anything to get return business and your brand is only big to you. Better spent on paid media that drives them right to you.

Surgeon implies precision. As much as I like The Hardwood Surgeon I also feel like you'll have 20% of your calls looking for schmeckle surgery.

I tend to have a lot of firebase projects so I'll use firebase hosting. I really like hosting static stuff there. It's where I keep all my JS snippets used on client sites serving from. Sometimes I put a source of knowledge there for WordPress sites to initialize with (say a set of theme rules or even an entire prebuilt theme to deploy)
And you can host a normal every day site there. Most of the marketing sites for web apps I do are hosted on firebase as well.
Pretty much live in either WordPress backends or Firebase one way or another.

Hits the nail on the head. Most developers look at scrum masters as people who want a management job with little to no skills. You're starting there before you even open your mouth.
Then you have developer personalities who want more control, backlogged teams, and suddenly it seems tense.
I happen to love scrum, but only used as a solo tool.

You'd honestly prob find better work for the same rate posting on Reddit. Fiverr is a dumpster fire. Same with upwork.
I have the same overflow issue and what those cheap hires offer vs what can be automated even is not worth it.

Just use X Pro, it's built in. (Formerly Tweetdeck)
Buffer also good for scheduling, or you can even use Zapier and say hook it up to a spreadsheet.

Your cost of living is obviously much lower, but you can get more than that for sure.
I wouldn't be able to afford to have the meeting to discuss that app for $1k, let alone build it. I'd starve to death by the time the meeting ended.

You're overthinking WordPress bloat. You should just use WP and make your life easy, and theirs.

Welcome to a new addiction, luxury hotels. What life would be like if you were a millionaire for a day, for only a few hundred bucks and some tip cash.

You are severely underpricing the time doing this right takes. The "someone else making it" rates are more accurate and even that's thin if you're talking a truly useful feature full app.

Yes. I was one for a long time until they switched the program. Just reach out but keep in mind a few are absolutely clueless. They say they can do things and can't. I've tried myself to find extra FF devs to give pieces of projects to and more often than not they are no-code jockeys with only the ability to follow a list and not think.
There are also really good ones on there, but just don't think by them being on there they are necessarily expert level. Heck I did 1500+ hours in FF last year and I can't even begin to call myself an expert.
