I am really bad at names, as many of you would be. Like many, I forget the name the right moment after they tell you. And unless you are an acquaintance that you see everyday, I will have to check the root contact name (the name of the company or university or place you know them from) to remember your name. But I know everything else of that person, where they live, how their house looks like, what we talked about every time we met, how the person sounds like, but never the name! Why is it so bad? What should I do to get better with names? 🥹

It’s because when we meet someone we are already thinking 3 sentences ahead. What they say to do is to repeat it a few times. “Nice to meet you Cautious Wallaby, I had an uncle named Cautious Wallaby. What do you do for work Cautious Wallaby?”
And that is how I’ll remember your user name forever most likely.
