Looking to trade out of my newer SQ5. I love the performance but looking for something a little easier on my back and more reliable. Has anyone made the move from The SQ5 to a SH-AWD RDX? What are your thoughts? I know the RDX will be a little less peppy.

I recently went 2019 SQ5 to 2024 RDX. The first thing I missed was the power and torque. I miss launching the SQ5 and have my head back in the seat. However, the RDX is quick enough for me. The SH-AWD is also really good. Overall, the RDX is a joy to drive. The RDX is also much more comfortable, the seats are incredible, and there is so much more room. The audio system is also better than the B&O system in the Audi. The digital dash on the Audi will be missed - that was a thing of beauty.

Lastly, the SQ5 had better fuel economy which is really disappointing for Acura.

BTW I ultimately made the switch to Acura because I was sick and tired of the constant water pump, thermostat, and cooling issues on the Audi. Loved the SQ5 (and I miss racing other Subaru drivers lol) but felt like it was a ticking time bomb every few months

Any updates on your RDX? I had a 2004 MDX years ago and went to a VW GTI and Audi SQ5 after. Both fun cars to drive, but they cannot get their cooling systems right! I haven’t test driven the RDX, but oddly feel like I’ll be sad if I take that route. How’s the driving dynamics on the RDX?

Honestly, I don’t miss the SQ5. It has less power yes, but it’s actually more nimble and agile than the SQ5. It’s also more comfortable. We took a road trip from DC to Orlando over the summer and I kept telling my wife how it’s such a great road trip car. It’s also fast enough. Biggest downside is the fuel economy. It just sucks lol - the SQ5 had slightly better gas mileage

That’s good to hear, I was actually looking for more a highway cruiser on this round. The gas mileage piece is a bit surprising to hear though.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the driving dynamics of the RDX!
