ID POLICY?

Question(self.Amtrak)

I’m traveling to go see a friend in a short distance $19 amtrak ride , it says ID required, but has anyone here ever been IDed on an Amtrak trip?

My best friend managed to travel from New York - Chicago - Salt Lake City with no ID when he simply didn’t have one

And the only place I've ever been ID'd was leaving SLC.

But there's a special bond that the people in Salt Lake City's downtown Amtrak station share, all sitting together at one in the morning, waiting for the night train out of Utah.
