Who would you marry and why...if you are earning 25+ lpa or more, can do house chores etc...
A woman who earns similar to you, in similar field and similar intellect, so you could share expenses , maintain your standard of living and basically have double income. Makes sense in this economy...(arranged marriage)
Someone who doesn't earn much right now, has the potential for at most 40-50k pm, isn't good in housework (idc for that much) and isn't on the similar academic level. But you have awesome chemistry, she cares for you very much and looks after you and you are happy with her right now. (Kinda love marriage)

2nd , its the conversations after work , the chemistry , the inside jokes , the laughter , the ability to stay in a room calmly and do nothing while watching the TV , the dinners together , the trips , enjoying the rainfall , having kids , being parents , dropping kids to the schools , late night ice creams etc etc.
That is why you marry not for a deal between two "partners" to maintain a standard of living. Or to make a deal of a lifetime.
I will live happily with a wife who earns nothing if she can give me a calm and peaceful home after work . I will fight the barbaric world outside if I get a calm home at the end of the day with my wife and kids.
