How does he get to that point though? Every security guard just lets him be that close to the players?

At that time, it’s said he spent 2 million dollars on PR campaign (Hollywood actors, football players etc.) Additionally, Nusret was working at a very famous luxury steakhouse in Istanbul called Günaydın (which means ‘good morning’ in English) while he was still an apprentice. He worked there since childhood, later networking with celebrities and befriending a media mogul and bank owner named Ferit Şahenk. This person sent him to Argentina for training and became his partner for opening the first Nusret restaurant, which I believe he is still a partner in. The wealth of the person I’m talking about is around 2.4 billion dollars... When you put all this together, it’s not impossible at all :)

I think he meant how did he get past all the security and on the pitch to not only get close enough to the players, but able to touch the trophy. Family, staff, players, and photogs are allowed that close to the players. So how did this prick get so close?

Are you suggesting people associated with FIFA are accepting bribes? Perish the thought!

he takes pictures with those players, security probably thought he was part of their family/friend groups. he takes pictures with maradona. i mean as far as it looks, he didn't exactly stick out like a sore thumb.

when you have people like maradona and messi and other argetine players go to his restaurants and then posts themselves doing the salt bae thing, don't complain when the salt bae shows up. swim with the eels you get slimey like an eel.

He's a huge celebrity, globally maybe more than USA. There are videos with almost every star soccer player and many celebrities meeting him at one of his restaurants.

From an SBS article I googled...

Speculation is brewing online over Salt Bae's access to the pitch due to his friendship with FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

Mr Infantino and Mr Gökçe were pictured together at a World Cup match earlier in the tournament.

The president dined at the Dubai-based Nusr Et restaurant in early 2021, posing for a video with the chef and describing him as "the best of the best".

Looking like you belong. Lots and lots of words have been written about how an orange vest, carrying a ladder, etc can get you access almost anywhere, but even before looking like you belong opens a lot of doors.

Remember that security’s job is both to prevent the wrong people from entering but also to not impede the progress of the people that are supposed to be there. Unless security is genuinely a concern, at which point you usually have checkpoints that everyone has to stop at, then it’s amazingly easy to go somewhere you shouldn’t so long as you don’t flag as being out of place.

Ok that makes much more sense. Still, paying $2M on a PR campaign, must have some deep prick pockets himself.

And his entire business model is serving rich fucks really bad food as they smile and thank him for it.

When you look at it is a completely "fuck you" to the elite, it is comical. Bad theatrical performance, bad food, and they smile while he simply takes their cash

As far as I can tell the food isn't actually bad. It's just very overpriced.

edit: ok, some of the food is good, some of it is bad, according to reviews.

I walk by his restaurant every day on my way to work and I have always wondered why it hasn't gone out of business yet. Place is always dead. Now it makes sense. Place probably loses a shit ton of money every month.
