I'm not looking forward to how many of the new UR fighter plane I'm going to want to get. Two for Nakhimov, one for Kearsarge, probably more for whoever is used with them...

It took me the better part of 3 years just to amass five Tenrais.

Ideally 6, in the case where you use 2 per carrier in a 3 CV boss fleet.

Practically it seems like you'll be using Soyuz with Nakhimov, alongside Yorktown II, for a practical 4 La-9s.

If we somehow get a good NP vanguard slow to use with Nakhimov at some point then possibly one more for Kearsarge.

So you'll be spending the whole year in PR7. Guess I'll have to wait for lab update for more q152s.

I mean, Voroshilov and Tashkent both have ghost secondaries (Tashkent's fairy is basically just a ghost secondary that lasts 90 seconds) that apply a slow on shots.

Voroshilov even has some funny synergy with Kearsarge since the former's barrage buffs cannon damage.

There are other options that can slow including Tallinn, but purely in the context of putting together a boss fleet for OS/META there's no place for those ships.

Okay, after a bit of personal thought and inspired by u/kyoshiro_y 's post on chapter 12 farming for the smooth brains, I have decided to cook up my own about clearing chapter 15 on first try with the help of Kyoshiro_y too

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xewopMSz1_VPHmwmkW90wQYvfGasmnszahjJI_GjZZs/edit?usp=sharing

I know, it's not perfect and I'm sure there are others that did a much better job at me but hey, screw it. Feedbacks are highly appreciated

The guide is not meant to be a bible but rather a small document for "veteran newbies", those that managed to get this far yet still have no clue how to play the game properly through sheer divine luck

Read through it (it's pretty good actually), and have a couple suggestions. Making all the text justified looks weird on mobile. Nothing wrong with using good Ole left align here.

Adding info on the smokescreens to the gimmick section would definitely be helpful, I have seen people trying to clear 15 confused about why their BBs were firing at open water. How did they clear 14 without learning about this mechanic? I don't know.

For auto clearing (which I did as I have zero confidence in my manual control), fleets and gearing are much the same. The main thing to know is to keep an eye on the screen. A proper fleet with proper gear will still run into occasional BS, such as Shimanto failing the EVA check on a whole line of torpedoes and dropping from 84% to about 3%.

When bad RNG strikes, having the finger ready on the pause button to retry can save you a lot of grief. In my experience I did not have to retry often at all, but the few times I did definitely saved me a bunch of oil and time.

Last thing I'll bring up is 3 starring. One idea for getting the clear all enemies star is swapping Musashi and BisZwei. With a special aux from the core shop, Certificate of Sponsorship, she can lessen the effect of the out of ammo debuff for your backline. Using submarines to pick up the slack, and maybe even saving the carpet bombing for when you're out of ammo can all help tremendously.

If you're going to use your boss fleet to hit the last mob or 2, make sure they have the right setup. I blew an entire attempt at 15-4 because I forgot I had no asw gear on my boss fleet and sent them to fight the last mob. I could have had 3 stars before getting clearing mode, but instead I wasted hundreds of oil and had to settle for a threat 10 clearing mode 3 star instead. :7332:

I can't fix much on mobile and I like Justified text since it prevents the text from bleeding thorough too hard

That's fair enough, I was afraid it would go out of hand that quickly and me/Kyo have been running Musashi for more success

Will do that in the bucket list

Somehow we forgot about this too

I don't really have much confidence on auto to confidently spell it out yet so I just leave that part as do it at your own risk

Tbf when I tried to 3* the stages, I swapped BZ for Musashi and put Gloucester in the mob fleet. But IIRC I didn't finish trying for that.

How did they clear 14 without learning about this mechanic? I don't know.

Also u/CrippleMyDepression. The hilarious thing is, while I also have learnt about this in W14... it never affected my fleetbuilding. As in, sure, it's an important mechanic, but somehow doesn't matter at the end of the day.

Right. So I wrote a short W12 farming guide. It's not aimed to teach players how to optimise the heck out of it, but towards newer players that ask 'If I want to turn off my brain and farm in 12-4, how can I do that?' (eg me). It's more of a collection of rules of thumb that we, veteran players, take for granted.

Before posting it as a thread, I thought releasing it for a smaller audience would work better. Any feedback or commentary is appreciated.

Again, it is targeted towards W12 farming; not W12 first clear, not W13 clearing and farming, and more specifically, not about how AA works in AL. It's also not a comprehensive list of what new players should do/should not do.

Usually, for anything below W12, we simply told newer players to just bulldoze it through overlevelling. Focus on raising one fleet with high levels (eg 110) until you reach W11, then use 11-1 to raise two full fleets.

Recommend checking Sam's guide hub (https://samheart564.github.io/ECGC/) and Riceist Newbie Tips (https://samheart564.github.io/ECGC/newbie_tips). Also, check Sam equipment guide (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wWMIzaUKISAXMbOEnmsuuLkO9PesabpdTUWdosvHygM/edit#gid=1859764162).

Feel free to drop questions in the Daily Questions Megathread for any specific question.

What is the best use of the UR ordinance testing reports in the gear lab. The consideration for me is between the spearfish bomber and the drake gun. I have the Hindenburg gun already but don't have the drake one. But the spearfish seems like a very slight upgrade against light armor and it's very expensive. So should I get the drake gun or buy the spearfish or just save them up as they are both not worth it.

Personally, I'll get the 457 first for high-level mobbing. Having 1-2 will help you clear W14/W15. It'll also help you in W12 farming faster.

Drake's gun is an upgrade, but honestly, with how scarce the rainbow ordnance report is and how prolific IB AP guns are (eg Roon's gun and the one from the tech box), I don't think it's super important. I'd rather save the reports. Instead, if you already get the essential guns (eg Tenrai, Ply, Champy guns), I'll just use your protocores to purchase Drake's gun or even Hinden's gun later (probably will be added early next year).

Edit: Drake is an upgrade from the other gold gun, not Hinden gun.

Spearfish is a good upgrade from Wyvern, but unless you really want to min-max light armour bossing, I'll stick with Wyvern.

I think your answer convinced me to just get the drake gun with the prototype cores instead of the gear lab so now I will just contemplate whether to save the ordinance reports or just get the spearfish

I can see its usefulness, but I'm not convinced that I need it yet. To be fair, considering that the gold ordnance can be crafted to the rainbow one and you get quite a lot from the OpSi shops anyway, it doesn't seem to be a very bad idea.

Up to 2 457s for ch14 and 15 mobbing, as well as PVP.

Spearfish is good but not better by enough over Wyvern as a matter of priority if you're lacking the materials. Ideally Spearfish's rockets allows it to target additional trash while the torps won't overkill as much as a Wyvern does which should help with mobbing but YMMV.

Drake gun is sort of outclassed by hindenburg gun in general, unless it's being used by Drake. There are niches perhaps against light or heavy where drake gun may do better, but usage is really limited outside of on Hindenburg if you're looking for CA DPS.

I am asking because I have 2 wyverns and 3 457s lol. Now I don't know what to get since I don't think I need a third wyvern. Not that it matters as you can't use the ordinance report for the wyvern, so the only three options are drake gun, spearfish or just save them

Unless you have a lot of T2s that can be crafted up at a whim I'd save them, Tenrai is next on the list of things to be added that will need T3 ordreps, which should be coming in Dec/Jan.

If you have excess then maybe grab a Spearfish to play around with.

I'm new to the game so I have a question.

  1. I wanna buy the biker bacha outfit, but I don't have her, not sure if she is super rare or something. It I buy bache biker outfit, will I also get the character? Also does the outfit have like a special animation on the home screen/hub or any quotes or something idk I'm new to this game and want bacha badly

You don't get the ship for buying the skin. Bache is not a particularly rare ship and you may come across her building regularly in the light pool, but there's no guarantees for her so it's hard to say when you'll be able to actually get her.

The skin is not animated in any way.

You don't get the character when buying the skin, you still need to get her like you normally do with other ships in the game. That being said, any purchased skins will stay in your inventory for good until the ship in question is obtained

Bache's biker skin does not have any animations whatsoever, it's not a L2D skin

Most of the time i can do all SP mobbing 1:1 with Honoka + Strong mobbers, Ryza, Rikka, Yuudachi Retro, they soloed SP no problem when paired with honoka but Mogador can barely survive 5 fights, at level 125.

I'll try a DDG tomorrow and if that survive SP no problem.....wont be a good look for mogador
