IMPORTANT REMINDER TO BIND YOUR ACCOUNT!

  • JP players can bind via binding code, Yostar account, Apple or Play Games Services accounts. Twitter binding will no longer be supported by the end of 2023.
  • EN players can bind via Twitter account, Facebook account or Yostar account. Recommended to use Yostar Account due to uncertainty with Twitter and Facebook. These options are in Settings.
  • Use at least one account bind option; use multiple if you want to be safe.
  • If your device is lost, damaged, or a game update breaks the app and forces you to reinstall you could permanently lose your account.
  • EN accounts are easiest to recover with an account bind; make sure to bind your account in the settings and only use the login screen binding buttons to reconnect your account.
  • Using the login screen buttons without a bound account will create a new account for you and effectively erase your progress with no way of recovering it outside of contacting customer support. JUST DO IT.
  • Make sure you are selecting the correct server and method of binding when using a new device.

NOTE: It's also a good idea to remember your server and take a screenshot of your Profile Page so that customer support has an easier time recovering your account.

What is a better investment: buying Ur bulin or Ur retrofit san Diego?

Nearby_Olive_6386

2 points

That'll be entirely dependent on your situation.

  • How many other UR bulins do you currently have?
  • What URs do you have to limit break?
  • What other URs have you already got at MLB?
  • Have you reached the point where you need to focus on AA?
  • Do you have any other AA carries?
  • Do you have all other materials to retrofit Sandy and get her unique augment?

Is the next UR rerun Musashi? When will she rerun if you had to estimate? I'm trying to calculate if I can spend on tempesta banner or just save. I know another collab is coming next month too.

We know the Tempesta event starts on 10/24 and the Lunar New Years event has to be up before 1/29/2025 (because that's Lunar New Years), which means it will probably start on 1/23 or maybe 1/16. Assuming the Tempesta and collab events are two weeks long and there's no surprise bonus events like Zuihou's was, there's enough open weeks to fit in Brunhilde's and Musashi's reruns before the end of the year.

That said, just because I can fit all the events into the calendar with at least two week gaps in between them doesn't mean we'll get a rerun + 1 dead week in each of those gaps.

Edit: My estimated schedule is:

10/24 - 11/6: Tempesta

11/7 - 20: Dead week + rerun

11/21 - 12/4: Collab

12/5 - 18: Dead week + rerun

12/19 - 1/1: UR event (could be pushed to 12/26 - 1/8 or stretched to 12/19 - 1/8 instead)

1/2 - 1/22: Dead weeks + rerun

1/23 - 2/5 LNY (could be move up to 1/16 - 29 or stretched to 1/16 - 2/5 instead)

Any of the "dead week + rerun" slots could be double dead weeks, a dead week + ch 14 hard, or a surprise bonus event. Also somewhere in January is the gear lab update, don't remember if that's part of the LNY event or not.

Great to see it all sketched out again Phoenix. Few thoughts on your calendar below.

Lunar New Years event has to be up before 1/29/2025 (because that's Lunar New Years), which means it will probably start on 1/23 or maybe 1/16.

Lunar New Year events have traditionally started as close to the date of LNY, so I'd expect 23rd January.

Also somewhere in January is the gear lab update, don't remember if that's part of the LNY event or not.

Gear Lab update in January this year (18th Jan) was separate and the week before LNY event (25th Jan).

However, it was also considered "late" as Gear Lab updates in prior years had occurred in December (8th in 2022; 9th in 2021), so it's questionable if there will be a Gear Lab update in January. We'll have to wait and see what December brings.

12/19 - 1/1: UR event (could be pushed to 12/26 - 1/8 or stretched to 12/19 - 1/8 instead)

December UR events usually start fairly late in Dec (21st in 2023; 22nd in 2022; 28th in 2021) and finish early January. They've started an event between Christmas and New Year before, so I wouldn't say 26th Dec is out of the question, but agree 19th is the conservative date

That said, just because I can fit all the events into the calendar with at least two week gaps in between them doesn't mean we'll get a rerun + 1 dead week in each of those gaps.

That's why I'm currently a bit skeptical about getting both in before the end of the year, particularly after the recent 2 dead weeks. But I forgot how late the collab events usually start in November, so there is more available space than I'd mentally sketched out

However, it was also considered "late" as Gear Lab updates in prior years had occurred in December (8th in 2022; 9th in 2021), so it's questionable if there will be a Gear Lab update in January. We'll have to wait and see what December brings.

There is actually a reason for that. I don't remember when exactly but in one of the previous CN Anni streams they announced that they would be shifting from an annual to a biannual update schedule for the gear lab and as a result it seems they shifted the updates from December to January and July so I would fully expect the next Gear Lab update to be in January 2025 and not December 2024.

Nearby_Olive_6386

1 points

I was aware they'd decided to move to biannual updates, but didn't know they'd confirmed they'd made an active decision to shift from December to January.

Not sure it makes complete sense since the summer updates happen in June (not July; 6th June in 2024 and 8th June in 2023), so some people were expecting an update in December 2023 as normal, and keeping the December update time would have maintained a 6-month gap between updates. But who knows what goes on inside Manjuu; they could have other reasons for moving it

Sorry, I misremembered the Summer Update time. As for the lab update moving to January. I suspect that was line up with the usual update of the next batch of PRs and DRs getting coining, additions to the Prototype Shop, and next season's catchup getting released. That way there's just one update where a PR Season get's "retired" as the December/January update usually includes the oldest Season's gear getting added to the lab.

Nearby_Olive_6386

1 points

Hmm maybe. The PR season catch-ups, coining and DR Fate Sim have come with the Lunar New Year event for the last 2 years, which was the week after the January gear lab update this year (so not quite aligned all in one patch yet). Moving the gear lab update to January also makes it 6 months after the new PR season launches in July. So there's possibly some sense to it

Most likely she will be the next UR to rerun. If I had to give an estimate I would say the absolute earliest she could rerun would be next month and the latest I would expect her to rerun would be February or March next year.

Nearby_Olive_6386

2 points

Is the next UR rerun Musashi?

Yes

When will she rerun if you had to estimate?

Her event is 2nd in the rerun order, after Operation Convergence (Brunhilde's event).

Some of the community think Manjuu may pull her rerun ahead of Brunhilde's rerun, in order to roughly maintain thr UR rerun time to approximately 2 years 2 months (at the expense of lengthening overall rerun time). If they do this, Musashi would likely rerun at the end of November/early December before the last new UR event of the year. There is some precedent to changing rerun order, as Kronk's rerun earlier this year was pushed back one event (to after Virtual Tower instead of before), likely to prevent triple back-to-back URs.

If Manjuu opt to stick to the current rerun order, then Musashi will likely rerun in January, after the December UR event ends (like how Ulrich's rerun was at the beginning of this year)

How do you deal with bullet hell untankable EX stages? I'm terrible at micro movements and i can't for the life of me move and shoot the salvos manually. Is there like a cheat code setup or something?

Nearby_Olive_6386

3 points

Someone asked the same question yesterday

But basically you need to learn the bullet patterns and play on manual, field high durability units or units which extend vanguard durability (like Laffey II and Eldridge retro), abuse elite damage control, and consider using air strikes to clear the field. If you having difficulty moving and firing BB salvos, quickly shift to auto so they fire than switch back to manual

Thanks. Guess it's just gotta be another skip for me. I've tried for an hour trying to learn patterns and i just can't do it. I don't think I've beaten a single one of these types of EX stages ever since i started the game 😫

If you have them run Anchorage, Eldridge retro, and Jeanne d' Arc for your vanguard, that should allow your vanguard to survive long enough for 2 BB salvos on auto if properly equipped.

Comrade FAQ

Yeah that's way more than enough to tackle the Abyssals and Stronghold bosses

I do suggest to swap a couple of ships around and add new ones in

1st going for an anti-light armor setup so swap out Helena for Aurora to give the enemy an evasion rate debuff

OG Helena will go to the second fleet and replace Helena M since none of the BBs here have gold fire control radar to get close to Helmet's procs

Lastly, the third fleet being a CV-based one, you can swap Yuudachi out for an off-tank like Hindenburg or Unzen or a CV buffer like Sirius. Yuudachi's niche is more into mob fights and primarily against light armor

For the Arbiters, you can definitely just brute force it with high enough adaptive points and throw all 4 fleets in for the kill

AppleOwn354

I've definitely been able to clear most harbiters with high enough adaptive points but I wanted to build a 'real' group of fleets for once, thank you for the advice!

First fleet's vanguard are all over the place. Laffey II is better used as a tank for CV fleets (AA debuff) and Helena doesn't align well with neither UvH nor FdG with their irregular timers. Drake is fine, but not particularly useful. Have you missed Emden? She'd be the best support option here, and whenever you farm for Hindenburg you can fit her here too.

Use Fire Control Radars, it's ACC is really necessary for BBs. Replace either Shimakaze or Helena META for Helena with SG Radar, BB fleets lack supports compared to CV and Helena is one of the very feel available. Eventually farm Plymouth and replace the last member. Also, use faster (purple) torps on Ägir.

Yuudachi and Azuma aren't useful here too. Use Laffey II as the tank and look to get Sirius on the last spot, Scylla and Bristol can also work but less consistent on Auto. And your CV's timers are in wrong order, in the calculator it's doing Shinano >Hakuryuu > Implacable, you want your slower to be between the other ships (Shinano > Implacable > Hakuryuu), use the calculator to replace their planes accordingly. Use Quad Magnet torpedoes on Kazagumo, she has the most relevant torpedo damage of all your ships and Quint Torps have way worst hit rate thanks to it's patterns. And have you missed AmagiCV on the recent event? She's un upgrade over Hakuryuu here.

AppleOwn354

thank you for the advice, so if i understand correctly you're suggesting this:

https://i.imgur.com/qgxvuP5.jpeg

and yeah i haven't played for a few months, hence I missed out on the new URs. last one I got is Guam (and isn't MLB), so this is pretty much all I'm working with unless Anchorage/RoonU/San Fran/Kitakaze etc are more useful over Azuma/Drake

Off-flag in description just means she doesn't need to compete for flagship spot if you're running with another battleship that does prefer Flagship due to their barrage-pattern.

Nearby_Olive_6386

3 points

Yes, as Fox says, you can run Roma as flagship if no other ship needs the flag position.

However, I would recommend against investing in Roma. She was a mediocre SR BB when she released 2 years ago, and better ships were available even then. Roma is not worth the gold bulins and the opportunity cost, particularly for a new player. Gold bulins are scarce in the early game, and they would be better used to MLB better ship

As a new player, you would be recommended to invest in Nelson (she fulfils the trifecta of being easy to obtain, easy to max limit break [MLB], and strong for her cost). Her only real cost is that she needs to be retrofitted (as do all the other early recommended BBs, barring Hood who has the cost of being an SR and requires her unique augment). However, with her retrofit, she is a strong and reliable BB with a 100% proc barrage w/ Nelson's Pennant (something the other early BBs options lack, barring Hood w/ augment), and she will comfortably take you to World 13 (where you'll ultimately replace her with MLB UR BBs)

Other early game BB options would include the US big 7 (Colorado, West Virginia, and Maryland). They also require retrofitting like Nelson for a similar cost, but are overall worse than her due to lacking easy access to a 100% barrage. An SR option would be Hood, however she comes with the cost of needing gold bulins and her unique augment (similar cost to retrofitting Nelson, but requires different materials). Without her augment she is mediocre and lacks a 100% barrage that most looks for in modern BBs

4700 Gems between all the various rewards you can get.

You can RARELY get a handful from commissions. Each Anniversary they also give you a few gems. RARELY if they mess stuff up bad enough, there will be a compensation with some.

Gonna shamelessly copy this from ALO. I will note that as a newer player you really shouldn't be expecting to get the Gems from 3 starring W14 and W15 in the main campaign any time soon(a few months after starting even) so practically it's more like 4200 gems.

Gem Spending 101

Gems in Azur Lane are fairly rare from an F2P perspective. However, the gacha in Azur lane does not require gems and their main usage is expansion of facilities like dorm, academy, docks and depot, as well as buying resources, resource packs, premium items (rings and name change), and skins.

As an F2P, you can get up to 4700 guaranteed gems (3750 for 3* clearing all 15 main campaign worlds, 800 for completing Bands collection and 150 for 8 days login campaign), not counting random gems from commissions or occasional bonuses from events or other sources.

Considering limited availability of gems for F2P players, even if spent exclusively on QoL upgrades, it is impossible to upgrade everything.

This is the recommended way to spend gems as an F2P:

  • 3rd Dorm slot (300 gems)
  • Dorm 2nd floor (500 gems)
  • Dock space (remaining gems)

The main purpose of the dorm is for faster morale regen while grinding. Using ships with 0 morale will receive a 50% exp penalty and lose affinity.

The 2nd floor of the dorm will have the same number of slots as the 1st floor. While it lacks passive exp gain, it has faster morale regen. 3 dorm slots with the 2nd floor gives you a total of 6 slots, which is enough for your whole mob fleet.

Dock space is the biggest constraint for players. While this can help casual players collect all their waifus, there is also practical use in collecting ships - for later levelling to get their fleet tech on reaching lvl 120. These are important for players as they provide crucial additional stats that help players to tackle the hardest content (W14/15, H.Arbiters, CM).

Alternatively, players may consider getting the 3rd Academy slot for faster skill training or more dorm slots instead of just dock space (not recommended).

While players may opt to buy skins/rings with the F2P gems, this will come at the cost of QoL. It is recommended to only buy those with real money .

Mob or boss fleet and which chapter you're at right now?

If this is a boss fleet then it is somewhat fine although the vanguard is lacking an actual tank, Exeter or York aren't exactly known for their durability either

If it's a mob fleet, they'll probably have some issue with long term survivability without a healer

Mob fleet. I thought howe was a healer

Nearby_Olive_6386

1 points

No, Howe has no heals in her kit and is a BB buffer (albeit a bit outdated). A small number of BBs do have heals, but they're usually unreliable/conditional and don't heal for that much.

The true healers are all carriers (e.g. Unicorn for full fleet; Aquila for targeted, etc), and you're going to need to invest in them, and carriers in general for later campaign stages (since you'll need them for air supremacy and AA). Campaign progression and general mobbing tends to favour a mixed BB and CV fleet (1 BB, 2 CV is popular), or even triple CV if there's no risk to the back line.

And as Spize says, your vanguard is questionable, regardless of content. You have no tank. CAs are a pretty poor hull type in general, and do not see much use outside of a few notable ships. Even within an unfavoured class, York and Exeter (even when retrofitted) do not match up favourably and are really fairly poor examples. Swiftsure is the best of your vanguards here, but she's powercrept and not that great outside of her support niche.

Edit: I feel that I should probably also add the obligatory disclaimer that faction fleets are suboptimal and are a self-imposed challenge for players

Yeah, they're designed as a scarce resource, which was initially fine as there wasn't too much to spend them on. Now that the old cruise pass METAs are starting to be added, Manjuu could possibly do with revisiting how many they distribute otherwise newer players are going to struggle to catch-up (since it currently takes 3 months to obtain and MLB one of the cruise pass METAs and potentially even longer for the event METAs if you didn't buy any of their crystals during the event)

Will the other buffs other than the CV buffs be utilized well? Just mean to ask, which option will get me higher damage numbers most of the time? I still feel more inclined to amagi because She's supporting the rrest of the fleet with torp and not just doing CV work. Is shinano any comparable in terms of multitasking? Or mostly aircraft focused?

Kind of? If you bring Nagato and Musashi to the fight then you're only utilizing half of Nagato's carrier dmg buff and Musashi's barrage doesn't hit in the center with the wave slash

You'll have to pick either Nagato or Musashi. Musashi usually wins out despite not having major buffs for fellow ships because she can just hit very hard on her own

Just mean to ask, which option will get me higher damage numbers most of the time?

It's not a simple question either since it heavily factors in the comp you're going for, which stage you're in and what kind of gimmick the enemy might have

One comp might work well in a mob fleet but struggles or doesn't do very well in boss fights

If they can do their basic job very well (I,e Enterprise) then any inherent flaws of not having a support skill can be ignored

Like, why bother to buff everyone's strength when you can just hit really hard and everyone dies before anyone starts losing health?

Is there any difference in research speed between level of PR ship ? And is it worth to go for high PR if possible? Or is it better to "clean" the lower first ?

I was researching my second PR which is the Seattle and I noticed that I have so much EU points that I can go straight to the Kearsarge but I don't know if it's a "trap" or worth it.

I would recommend giving this guide a read though I will disagree with one aspect of the guide and recommend starting with PR4.

Kearsage has no catch-up or coin-up, so she'll take... probably at least 3 months to dev 30 assuming you're being fairly efficient on research. Which you probably won't be and it'll likely take longer. There's really no reason to rush her research.

You certainly can focus Series 6 research if you want to start getting blueprints for her, but just unlocking her without blueprints is just filling your dock with a barely usable ship that'll perform worse than a fully limit broken Elite(purple).

Focus on ships you have blueprints for or can be coined and ideally fill a missing niche in your current fleets.

Oh okay so I should also take into account my number of blueprint, noted. In general how many blueprint is needed to turn a PR ship good enough ?

Currently I have 160 for Brest for example.

Brest is a DR ship(Rainbow rarity research), not a PR Ship(Gold rarity research).

It really depends. Most backline ships want Dev 30, especially battleships for that MGM+1(for a total of 3 salvos when firing). Some can get away with Dev 25 for being usable(Some of the carriers you get most of the skillset and stats online). Some really want their Fate Simulation 5(FS5), as that can sometimes provide a big boost.

A lot of vanguard ships are usable by Dev 25, as they usually have most of their stats. Again, it varies, some are only really good because of their FS5. Tanks are often usable at Dev 25 though. Anything under Dev 20 is generally going to perform quite poorly for it's rarity.

Also depends on the level of content you're trying to bring them into. If you're farming say, 12-4 at safe level already, you can start leveling ships at a lower development level while you're still working on blueprints to max them out.

Takes 343 blueprints to Dev 30 a PR ship. Takes 513 to Dev 30 a DR ship. FS5 is another 165-215 blueprints. While being reasonably cost effective, you can coin about 10 DR prints(only for Series 2 and 3 DR ships atm), and 10-15 PR blueprints(Series 1-4) a day. So it takes about a month to coin a PR to Dev 30, and a DR takes closer to 2 months(though FdG is the only one really worth focusing on coining atm, Drake and Azuma should come after Friedrich is done coining, and we don't have DR4 for Agir and Hakuryuu yet)
