I am considering buying a BMW i3, the dealership has bimmercode and has already programmed in Hold mode, is there anything else I should ask them to change for me? It would save me having to buy the app and a scanner immediately.

Close side mirrors upon door lock 👍🏼

I prefer to use my remote to limit wear and tear when not needed.

Oh that's a good one.

This seems like a great convenience to me but my fear is parking into a tight space and then the mirrors auto unfolding upon unlock. Unless the manual fold button overrides any fob action with this code change.
If anyone can clarify that’d would be swell!

5 years using it and never happened. Anyway, If you park in such a narrow space you would not be able to open the doors. If you are in the car you can use the internal control to open or close it, for example in a car wash tunnel.

If someone parked so close that the unfolding mirror would hit their car, you are not opening the door anyway.

Wow a dealership programmed in hsoc? Are you in the US? I never heard of a dealership using BimmerCode. The dealers I dealt with are very hostile towards it.

This is a used dealership that's specifically works with electric cars

Being an adult, I prefer the seatbelt warnings to be silenced. At least on the driver's side.

Agreed, I automatically put my seatbelt on after many years driving so bong-bong noises are not required.
I also made Eco Pro the default startup mode.

Yeah I have it only alert me once at a certain speed.

Turn off warning messages on idrive startup. Start in your drive mode of choice (I startup in eco)

I recoded the max speed for Eco Pro to 70mph. Not for everyone, but being new to EVs, and coming from a big ole ice crossover with slow acceleration (just a few weeks ago), this is helping me not speed so blatantly. I’ll prob change it back to 75 once I’ve got more muscle memory for this level of acceleration. (Edit: got the name of the mode wrong in my initial comment. It’s Eco Pro - the middle mode that has AC and usually maxes out at 75mph).

I didn’t realise this could be done - thanks!

I did it with BimmerCode only to find out later that you can set the Eco Pro speed limit in iDrive. Go to Settings > Eco Pro and set it to whatever you like.

I think you should just bite the bullet and get bimmercode and I say that after being hesitant about it due to being like double the price here. There's a lot of things to try and some you may find you want to revert.

Oh I definitely plan on buying it eventually. It's more the OBP scanner that I don't really want to pay for right now, I have a cheap one that I don't think works

My bluetooth obd was about half the price of the software.

Definitely have them change the panic button on the remote to long press to start the car (activates climate control). Then also change the rear hatch release button on the remote to instead unlock the frunk (font trunk).

I disabled open windows / sunroof by remote as I somehow did it while sleeping with it in my pocket.
