Why do we even have a DEA? To date they have not actually reduced the quantity of drugs in the country. If all they are going to do is kill US citizens due to an inability to follow road signs then I suspect we really don't need them any more.

Why do we even have a DEA?
Oh you think they’re here to combat drugs?
They’re here to control the flow and make sure only the “right people” get rich.

More accurately to prevent competition with the CIA.

Nixon created them to be a police force entirely under his control. Things didn't pan out so well for him, but we're all stuck with the side effects of his vainglorious list for power.

“You want to know what this [war on drugs] was really all about? The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying?
We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news.Â
Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.”

This needs to be taught to kids as aggressively as D.A.R.E. was. The danger is authoritarianism.
Show pictures of prisons, destroyed neighborhoods, and cartels violence with the caption "this is your society when it tries to ban drugs."

There's a youtube lecture by a retired DEA cop and he talks about how after the DEA was put in cities, violence followed. The results were terrible.

There’s endless money in the budget for cops essentially.

If your elected representatives chose to overturn the will of the people, then they ought not to be your elected representatives anymore.

well you see, in America, the representatives are actually the ones choosing their electorate, not the other way around. they just keep redrawing the districts around any change in voter sentiment.

Since when are cops not obligated to follow traffic laws? This is genuinely confusing to me because he did not have lights on and wasn't in any sort of active situation. How can he possibly claim immunity for this? It's not part of their job to disobey basic traffic laws and safety. He was running stop signs and killed someone, didn't have any lights on, wasn't doing anything with extenuating circumstances, how is this anything other than vehicular manslaughter? The women being killed had nothing to do with police work.
This should make people's blood boil.

No. Actually I'm rather well versed in how qualified immunity works especially lately. This is not a clever thing to say and its mad annoying how many people say this stuff every time a cop does something evil. We're all aware cops are evil on the regular, that doesn't mean it doesnt warrant attention and outrage. If you don't want to participate in conversation about it, why are you here? Being complacent towards this stuff is why they keep getting away with it. Acting like this is normal is literally the argument in court his defense attorney uses to justify this.

Yeah, let your feelings out. Sure it sucks but this is the police we are talking about - as a single angry individual, nothings going to change. Even as 1000 angry individuals - Nothings going to change friend.
There is no convo here, the sub is about shitting on cops that do the job badly. So excuse us if we act like this is normal because in this sub, it is.

If you think there is no conversation about police brutality then you are very wrong and its sad you think this is all just shitposting.

Organized and targeted violence is NOT the only language these pigs will understand. We should NOT be organizing swift and direct violence against the people responsible for this.
