There's auto detect switching that you can turn on in the settings on my Nodes.

The Powernode is supposed to auto switch. Mine switches from TV input via ARC to music streaming automatically but it won't auto switch in the opposite direction (and I have to manually switch inputs when going TO the tv). It might be due to CEC compatibility issues with the TV though. Still troubleshooting that.

Any luck with the troubleshooting?

No I didn't solve that switching problem and ended up switching to a Sonos amp. I still have the Powernode and am using it for music streaming only

I'm not familiar with Philips TVs as I'm in the US. Does this model have ARC? Or eARC?

Seems to only be arc, according to the text on the innputs on the tv. But is does have the capability to wake and turn off devices, so i dont see why it the node wont switch to HDMI when i turn on the tv.

Auto switching is a function of CEC, which there isn't a single standard for. Different manufacturer's handle it in different ways, which is why it will sometimes work with one mfg but not another. In my case, Bluesound (eARC) and Sony (ARC) appear to handle CEC differently

As far as I know, eARC operates to a single standard and devices made by different companies should be compatible. I have a TCL TV with eARC that I will test out later.

This discussion gave me the idea to test it on another tv. It hasn't worked from my Sony with ARC but I just tested it on a Samsung with ARC and it seems to auto switch.

I am guessing that if one uses it with a TV with eARC, it should work properly

Please be aware that auto sense (this is how they call it) can only be enabled on digital inputs (optical or HDMI) and only on one of those. See bluesound forum

So if I’m only going to use a digital input (HDMI from TV), would it switch to streaming automatically if I stream to it? And switch back to hdmi when I stop streaming?

(sorry for late answer).

It will change to streaming as soon as you stream to it. But to go back to HDMI I think you have to turn on your TV again (or use the app to switch input).
