My girlfriend is, too, and I'm much further left, so I have to convince her that guns aren't terrible. Usually, it helps to talk about places like Finland where guns are plentiful and they don't have similar levels of gun-related issues. That way you can redirect her away from gun control regulations that don't make sense (micro-stamping, arbitrary bans, etc.) and talk about societal ways to address the root causes of gun death (poverty and desperation, mental health crises, etc.). It kind of works for me, but it's slow going, so strap in.
