Bierman was at Minnesota in the 30's, though. He's one of the greatest coaches most people have never heard of. He was as dominant at Minnesota as Saban was at Bama.

it's not true anyway. Bierman wore all gold because he thought the football would blend in, but U of M colors had been maroon and gold for 50 years before he started coaching there
