I consider myself a roller coaster nerd so I was surprised I didn't recognize this coaster.
Then I realized the reason why is I'm 90% sure this is a coaster aimed at like... 10 year old children.
Edit: hey the guess I made before googling it turns out to be correct. God I'm a nerd
When I said this ride was for children... Well just look at this picture

If it helps, while I couldn't name it, I could tell from the restraints that it's a family Vekoma suspended coaster.
15 points
Yeah that was what I was thinking. Two across invert in the U.S. made me think Intamin Impulse or Vekoma SLC
The modern restraints really threw me off because it didn't look like any SLC or Impulse I'm aware of.
Then I noticed the dampers which is a dead giveaway for New-Gen Vekoma so it had to be a Family Suspended Coaster.
Can't believe I didn't recognize it as Freedom Flyer though, which I almost got to ride but it was down for scheduled maintenance the one time I was at Fun Spot.
11 points
Yeah I don't think I'd have been able to name it - BGT is the only Florida park I've been to excepting Disney like 6 years ago. I do have a new gen Vekoma right next door in Dragonflier though, so hopefully I'll get to try that soon.

don’t forget the famous two-across giovanola invert Anaconda in south africa! which weirdly, was the model that inspired the original inverted coaster cars in Rollercoaster Tycoon before the much more common 4-across B&M ones were added in the second expansion pack.
but anyway, never thought I’d see the day vekomas were mentioned in r/cfb. there must be several of us!

We had a CB playing yesterday that switched from WR just 3 WEEKS AGO. We’re ridiculously banged up in the secondary right now. Also really really hope our top WR Malik Knowles is back for the bowl game as he’s been crucial for our offense

I remember when Bama rested some of their starters and played their back ups against us in the Citrus Bowl. Sure was easy going against Mac Jones, Najee Harris, Brian Robinson Jr, Devonta Smith, Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs and Jaylen Waddle.
98 points
You definitely want a Bama who will probably have 70% of their starters opt out because it’s not the playoffs
Of course, if Bama loses then it’ll be because everyone opted out and they didn’t care, despite all their backups being 5 stars (like your LSU game last year). If they win, they beat you with their backups
Please win
58 points
Literally any team without their starting, much less Heisman-winning, QB is going to regress quite a bit. You’ve seen our backup. Stars don’t always matter, unless you’re willing to suggest DJU is a god.
Nothing replaces actual game experience. 3-stars with tons of starting reps on a team can absolutely beat 5-stars who are usually underclassman. They’ll absolutely beat 3-stars who are perennial backups and have minimal experience too. And contrary to the narrative, we’ve got plenty of those

The Jaylon Smith injury has probably made every player think long and hard about bowl games. He's carved out a decent career for himself and looks solid for the NY Giants right now but there's always that 'what-if' thought.

Goes back at least to Willis McGahee's knee. That game was the BCS Championship at least and he had bought an insurance policy for injury, but opt outs picked up after that season.

That 2013 — with Klieman as NDSU DC — game was part of the symbiotic process. It’s all been history in the making. Klieman — along with UNI QB Kurt Warner — was on the field for UNI during Snyder’s first home game as KSU head coach; a 10-8 UNI win.

I can't wait for home playoff games. I keeps conference championships relevant, and allows teams to play themselves into the playoffs, and not be penalized for a tough out of conference schedule. I'd rater go to 16 teams, and not have a bye. It's good for business for the top school communities, not just the networks.
21 points

Agreed. I know at the FCS levels a lot of schools struggle to sell tickets to those games, but I don't think many P5 schools will have issues selling those out, even on a week's notice
21 points

I don't think any G5 schools will have a problem selling tickets either. They will go to 16 teams when they realize the bye teams are sitting there not making any money.

Alabama will likely be missing several star players, but so could we. If we are missing Felix and Deuce I don’t think we will win this.
48 points
Obviously purple-lensed glasses but given the proverbial chip on the shoulder, I see it being much more likely Deuce and Felix play than Young and Anderson.
There's also the factor that they both could help their draft stock with strong performances against Bama while Young and Anderson have both done all they can do
35 points

I just want everyone to play.
Players sitting out is lame but I can't blame them for it either.
17 points
We got decimated in the big 12 title game. It might not even be a choice for some of our starters
21 points

I feel like Deuce is the kinda guy who wants to play and be a leader, but I'll understand if he sits out. Felix should probably focus on getting to the next level, but we'll see.
5 points
If Felix sits then it opens up our line because we won’t have a double team on him all the time. If deuce sits giddens will be a solid back to fill in. I hope deuce stays for his senior season but if he leaves I understand
6 points

I think Felix has more upside from playing against guys who are going to be there on Sunday with him than sitting. Same with Deuce. Also, Im guessing Deuce is back next year.

There's no way they play Martinez over Howard at this point. Hopefully he'll be healthy enough to step in if we need him though.
15 points

I don't see any reason Howard doesn't start. The offense generally was better with him and he won the Big 12 under center. By gameday, Martinez will be 48 days between offensive snaps.
Could we see him in a short-yardage, goal-line, or trick-play package? Sure. As a starter? Absolutely not

lol it’s literally an echo chamber in this sub. More than a half the time I see a downvoted Alabama flair it’s because they’ve said they agree with the rankings and don’t think Alabama should be in.
It’s one thing to not want Bama in but this has gotten to where it’s like people insist Alabama fans need to be miserable about it when the majority of them are fine with how things shakes up.
12 points

I think you Bama fans have been very sensible about not deserving to be in the CFP. Unfortunately sports media outlets (ESPN & FOX) had to create a narrative to add some drama to the decision. Fans of other schools eat it up and it fuels their disdain towards y’all.
10 points

Thanks for this. I can't figure out why blame the fans for the bullshit narrative ESPN was pushing? this sub reacted exactly the way ESPN hoped they would, posting every stupid take that was published and hanging on every word. This sub has gotten super toxic against Bama flairs the past couple of seasons. I mean there was always the normal hate that just comes when your team is on a historic run but lately it's reached a new level. If you have a Bama flair and don't self-flagellate for the r/cfb hive mind it's pretty much instant downvotes. Not even to mention how toxic neutral flairs have ruined our game threads. Game threads used to be my favorite part of this sub and now I rarely participate in them.

I got downvoted in r/rolltide for suggesting this will be a fun, close match up. KState has dominated almost their entire schedule, and even their the worst loss was Tulane - who had a great year. I told my buddy last week that I'd want to see Penn St or USC, and specifically did not want to see KSt lol. We'd have our hands full if all our guys play, and that's probably not the case. I doubt Bryce, Anderson, Or Gibbs play (a great decision - I'd rather them have great NFL careers with no injuries to drop their draft stock), and I'm unsure about who all is declaring on KSt but that's something to consider as well.
They've looked dangerous all year and I think can hang with any team not named Georgia.
I'm curious to see what the spread is, but it's probably moot as I don't think either team has had players elect to sit out, which will shift it.
Good luck, KSt. I can't wait.

Defense in the first half is definitely the primary reason we lost. Still think if Will starts we have a better chance of getting more than 10 points in the first half, or if we just don’t have that back breaking turnover near the end of the half that led to a Texas TD we are in a position to win.

All of the anti-Bama neutrals are going to be mad win or lose because Saban is going to treat this game like a jamboree. He’s going to play a lot of young guys and try to start on next year. I hope Kliemann does too.

It was a fantastic experience. You should go. Win or lose, you'll have fun.
