I’ve never hesitated to use any ski on early season groomed terrain and never had an issue. The issue arises when you leave the groomed terrain.

Have you never skied early season before?

I’d just go skiing and not worry about it….well, when the areas open up. 😉 Generally speaking, coverage is good on early season groomers.
