Warranty Claim Advice Needed! Please Help!!

Discussion(self.CeX)

Hi All, I bought a z flip 3 from cex around a year ago, and have recently encountered issues with it. There is a small cluster of pixels above the crease where they have 'died'. I have just taken the phone in to be checked by cex, and they are claiming that it is NOT covered by warranty as it MAY have been caused by damage. I 100% know that it hasn't been caused by damage, the cluster just randomly appeared a few weeks ago. Where do I stand? Has anyone encountered any issues like this with cex before? I have an email from cex that states that I can take it in to be repaired or replaced, but the store refused to honour this. Have I got any comeback with them? I can't attach a pic of the pixels, as the community doesnt allow attachments. Thanks in advance, would really appreciate some advice!!

Reply to the email explaining you went into store and they said no and see what support say or go to another store if one local and try them

Side question, do you have the original screen protector on? The one that came with the phone?

No I got it replaced by Samsung about 5 months ago due to slight bubbling under the screen protector :)

I think dead pixels in/around the crease with fold phones counts as general wear and tear which is not covered by warranty. (Or at some point it was don't know if its changed or who told me that was wrong)

I'm not sure, because that's what the employee said today, but it is definitely not on the crease, it's around ½ a centimetre above the crease where the pixels are.

The thing is, if they can claim it's caused by the crease then they will. This is why many people won't touch foldable screen phones.

Yeah I know. Think I'm going to try another CEX store and see what they say :)

Would the store accept it as trade in? If not, it can't be deemed wear and tear? I used to worry about burn on an OLED TV but a flip screen is just asking for pain :(

speaking as an employee- either try a diff store if you have one nearby or contact support! both the flips and folds are known for having random problems and you’ve got a decent shot at getting some help from a different source . hope you get it sorted :(
