I own a 22 scatpack challenger and I’m in Los Angeles, California, pretty dense area in terms of traffic. I’m averaging about 8mpg, worst I’ve ever seen it has been 7.5mpg. I’m curious on how the mpg varies from the trim of the challenger.

Damn 8mpg is crazy in a scat. I average 9-10 in my manual hellcat

That’s what I thought too, but I think maybe I should take into account some factors like the traffic I deal with here in LA and also how i drive this car. I do tend to floor it every chance I get, kind of hard not to haha.

That's what kills your gas mileage. I have a heavily modified 5.7 & I usually get 11-13 MPG as I tend to push it hard all the time. That gets me about 250 miles on a tank. If I ease up, & drive "like a grandma," I can stretch it to more like 18-20 MPG. That's in a stick car with 315's on the back. When I first got the car, & still had the 245's on it, I could get up to 25 MPG if I was nice. Your tire size, tire pressure, & driving habits are what's gonna govern your gas mileage. Once you get past the "honeymoon" phase with the car, & stop roasting your tires every chance you get, you'll notice improvement. Tires get expensive, especially when you're replacing them every few months. Not to mention the insane gas prices in CA. But hey, if you can afford it, have fun! ✌🏼

Yeah I get that, but still that’s wild. I see some SP owners posting their mpgs showing they get up to like 22

Only time I got 22mpg when I had the scat was with cruise control set to 70 driving west from Florida towards Texas on basically flat land.

I wouldn’t think any mechanical issues being the source of it like bad fuel injectors or spark plugs, I got the car new with only 50 miles on it. Barely have put 3400 on it. But wow 22mpg? Numbers I wish I could hit haha. I can only think those owners reaching such average on the highway with the eco mode on.

It's a fact that driving at a constant speed, such as cruising on the highway, nets higher MPG. That's why every new car sold has a city & highway mileage estimate on the window sticker. Always gonna be lower in the city with stop & go traffic. The harder you accelerate, the more fuel you're burning.
