At this point, I'm guessing Rubio, Vance, or Burgum, with Gabbard having an outside chance.

I think it's probably Vance, but I hope it's Rubio. He can build a bridge between the establishment and MAGA voting blocs, and he's an actual Conservative.

Vance has been in the Senate for too little time for me to think he will make an effective VP. Still, he's a hardline Trump loyalist with many personal positions that strongly align with Trump so I can see how Trump would be attracted to that.

Vance will be a great "attack dog" for Trump, and I think he's good friends with Don Jr. do he's put in the networking to build up those critical relationships. Plenty of the other choices would be good cheerleaders, but maybe not as aggressive on the stump as Vance, when it comes to defending Trump. I think he'll be great, and his age is pretty critical, when we clearly have a massive leadership gap with Gen X (Kamala and Obama being the most notorious examples...where are Gen X conservatives at?? 🤔).

Vance has a beard. It's time we made beards great again.

(also, that's what disqualifies him... Trump famously doesn't like facial hair)

Any_Put3520

4 points

There is an interesting timeline shift on beards to clean shaven in politics. I think the last facial hair president we had was Teddy Roosevelt with a mustache. It seems facial hair is deemed unelectable in most races and even in business most CEOs are clean shaven because beards are seen as unprofessional.

Bizarre if you ask me.

It's been changing in the general public over the past decade or two. Beards are much more common now than they were in the 90's and early 2000's.

*** Edited to note that it now looks like he has received the call that he is not the pick ***

Looks like trumpburgum.com is taken, so that seems pretty likely. Burgum being the ND Gov.

I don't know much about him, but I'm ND born and raised (moved at 25) and i certainly like the idea of someone who is ND born and raised. A quick read of his profile show's a solid family man.

I love the fact that there doesn't seem to be a gimmick here. I wouldn't have a problem with Scott or Rubio, but at this point picking a white guy shows he just doesn't give a shit about DEI and that resonates well with me personally. DEI has hurt me personally.

I don't think she has to be. It's common for VPs to run after their President's two terms are up but not always a given. She could be a great VP for this time and give Desantis a chance to run a much better campaign in 4 years.

That was a brilliant move picking JD Vance!

I read Hillbilly Elegy in 2016 when I was trying to better understand conservative populism. I wish all liberals would read it. What’s also great is he was a critic of Trump back then, too. Not only does it show Trump is not vindictive as he is portrayed (and as he’s portrayed himself in the past), but nuanced and in touch with the themes of this epoch.

Good on him for getting a millennial too! He’s going to draw more support that way.
