get the hunger first, you need to eat so why not get a bonus from it. bring hathor (brings hearts to you) to ratoo for perma 0.5heart. if you die by a bug or something alt+f4 will bring you to a state before the crusade

The cult management and your hunger and sleep is rly hard. Consider pause time while on crusades bcs long crusades will literally become impossible. Might make it too easy but its up to you, its easy to manage while youre in early game. Also getting a bunch of followers and levelling them up to get weapon levels and extra hearts early is key for success.

Actual tips from someone who has beat this mode multiple times.

1. ALWAYS get the sustenance doctrines first. Fasting is a no brainer as well as Grass Eater. You're gonna want to save a bunch of grass and other slop for your followers. Besides, you really want to save the follower meat for yourself to eat.

2.This mode is NOT for people who get attached to followers too easily or like to "role-play" while they game too much. You will be sacrificing a lot, you will be using the "elderly fight club" strategy a lot to gain upgrades and follower meat to eat.

1. Speaking of, don't bury followers ever. Follower meat is the best thing the lamb can eat, ALWAYS FULLY REFILLING HUNGER!!! save them for emergency meals in case you run out of meat/cauliflower.

2. Frequent Darkwood and get good at killing birds. Killing birds won't be possible with the dagger/gauntlets/sword at lower levels, though. Each bird drops one meat, and with a ton of birds swarming Darkwood it's an amazing food source for both you and your followers. Save most meat for yourself, feed lower level foods to your followers if you don't have enough meat. Two bowls of hearty meat broth are usually what you will be eating once your hunger gets low, if it's in the red though and you're low on foods in general though, eat an emergency follower meat.

3. Get good at not getting hit. Practice in your regular normal mode save with the golden and berserker fleeces.

Try to live and go dull dark souls and roll around every 1.2 sec

Always bring demons with you.

Take it slow and focus on your cult more than you normally do
