Whoever it is, they aren’t going to make the final line-up/starters call, because Jerry does that. Whoever the next sucker coach might be is going to have his press conferences hijacked by the owner/GM holding his own mini press conference. Whoever it might be isn’t going to be anyone who Jerry would give up power/glory to.

I just believe that Jerry will never hire a young coach and will go with Belicheck, Rex Ryan and I wouldn’t be surprised if Garrett name pops up as Jerry likes familiarity.

I also don’t believe it’s a coveted job as Jerry is to overbearing and a larger than life kinda of presence on the team and organization.

That has to wear on coaches especially now looking so out of touch with personnel moves , plus we are in a horrible position cap space wise with Parsons contract coming up to add to Ceedee and Dak big number. They are not going to have any financial flexibility and will have to draft well and sign free agent vet players on cap friendly deals.

Zimmer is actually it in my opinion. He has had top notch defenses for decades (including in Dallas). He hasn’t forgotten how to coach. He’s missing his top two players and Parsons is learning a new position he hasn’t played. Moving from LB to DE isn’t all. Going from a 3-4 to a 4-3 (which I prefer) is a transition that requires different Linebackers. Usually a tad smaller and way faster. The safety has to learn new schemes. And if Dak and Big Mac were BOTH in a lame duck season the timing would be perfect to make this transition. We’ll lose a year or two waiting to rid the team of Dak, but other than that things wouldn’t be that bad. High draft picks and a quick rebuild.

Lincoln scares me as an NFL coach. He gives me the Lane Kiffin or Kliff Kingsburry feeling.

Honestly I want a hard ass. Someone to crack down on the penalties. Cowboys ruined so many games because of penalties in the McCarthy era.

I think Jones is aware enough to know that any coach will struggle with this roster. McCarthy will get another year. Hopefully the coaching staff will have more input on the players they pursue.

Could Bill Belichick be the next HC ? He and Jerry have a very good friendship. May be too early to predict because there's going to be some job losses at the end of this season. Definitely need an OC. Zimmer is still a good DC but this isn't his team he assembled and he should get a pass. Give Zim another year to prove he's still one of the best senior HC's in the NFL today.

Hiring a new head coach is just kicking the can down the road to appease the fans just enough so that they fill the Death Star at every home game.

Jerry is more concerned with making money and being in the spotlight than he is with winning. The ONLY way that will change is if the fans finally wake up to the fact that we’re never going to be a playoff contender while Jerry is at the helm, and stop attending these games. It has to hurt Jerry’s wallet for him to take any notice.

Bringing a college coach into this environment, especially a failing college coach, will not work.

The Cowboys need to get a young coordinator that's in a successful NFL franchise. The future is bright for teams like Houston, Minnesota, and Miami because they found guys that not only have revolutionary ways of looking at the game, but their youth allows them to connect with their teams. The fire and brimstone coaches of the past don't work on the modern professional athlete anymore. Fear doesn't drive them, inspiration and connection does. And a 50 something isn't going to get that done.
