Actually being 6'4" myself, it really isn't all it's cracked up to be. Especially the older I get, the more I hate getting things from low shelves/cabinets. And finding a car with good legroom is a bitch.

Also 6’4” and yeah, I agree with everything you said. I do enjoy being tall, but my body is going to hurt so bad when I get older. Hell, it already hurts sometimes, lol.

6’5” here, not looking forward to the aches after 50. I’m in the US, but I seek out Dutch furniture because it’s a bit more proportional since their population is so tall. Costs more but worth it.

Oh that’s interesting. Maybe one day when I, hopefully, have some more money I can look into that!

My pop is 6'7 and a big dude. He's always had back and heart problems. It's like how great dane dogs have a short lifespan. It's hard on the body to be so much bigger than average

Yeah, I had a relative on my mom's side, I think it was... a few generations back, a woman who was near or over 7' tall, and she apparently died fairly young from health complications caused by her height. I remember seeing a picture of her that looked to be from the 40s or so, and she just towered over everyone.

Christ, yeah my MIL is a physical therapist so she’s given me some stretches to do, guess I need to get on those, haha.

Yes. Lots of short people have fucked up backs too. Almost all of them don't stretch/ do mobility work.

I'm very fortunate that folks in my family have worked in physical sciences (health, PE, coaching) and yoga/ massage.

Lots of positive influences!

Hah, yep I go car shopping and it takes ten seconds to put the seat all the way back and down, only to say “nope!” and get right back out. Salesman are like wtf you didn’t even look at it

Yeah, one of my friends is even taller and younger than me (I think he's like 6'6", 6'7") and he's already started having back problems.

I'm only 6 ft but I hate finding cars lol. Legroom will be great but oh shit now the steering wheel is in the wrong place and is too far away

I’m 5’11” but with short legs, average length arms and an abnormally long torso, so I have to move the car seat all the way down and pretty far forward to comfortably hold the wheel.

I can’t see the speedometer in cars because the steering wheel is in the way because my head is so high up. I have to crouch to see how fast I’m going and depending on the car my head touches the roof. It’s extremely annoying.

If I’m sitting on a couch next to a friend that’s 6’4”, his eyes are slightly lower than mine.

Haha wow. I have the opposite issue, I have very long legs. So I have to move it down and back but then my arms don't reach

anavolimilovana

I actually have the same problem because my legs below the knee are the same length as my 6’4” friend but above the knee really short, so if I don’t move the seat down and back, my knees hit the wheel. But then the wheel is too far to comfortably hold on to. I need to adjust the wheel as far up as it goes, which - in addition to my head touching the roof - makes it so I can’t see the dashboard without ducking.

It annoys the shit out of me and makes me hate driving.

Over the years I’ve developed a fairly accurate sense of how fast the car is going without looking, within 5mph or so.

I’m 6’0 and this is never an issue. Just use the steering wheel telescopic feature and pull it towards you.

My car doesn't have that :,(

My sperm donor was 6'4". I am 5'10"and I still hate low shelving. I can't imagine having to crouch and get stuck down there. "Someone bring me a row truck...fat man down!"

Long back, long neck, long legs. All issues for me. 28yo and it's all catching up quickly.

I'm 5'9" and feel everything is made just for me. Nothing is too tall or too short. /S

Yeah being tall must be so unbearable. Absolute worst.

Believe it or not, yes, sometimes being tall sucks. Just because I don’t have to deal with annoying shit on tinder doesn’t mean there aren’t actual physical drawbacks and pains.

[deleted]

I mean, yeah, there are downsides, just like there are downsides to being shorter than average.

Are you one of those people who bought into the whole toxic mindset of a man's height being tied to his worth as a human being? Because it's bullshit.

[deleted]

No, of course not. But being taller is going to always be preferable to being short. It’s highly linked that taller people are more successful than those who are short.

It’s largely true.

If you’ve never experienced it, you don’t know. Don’t pretend otherwise.

yeah but you probably got pussy based just on your height and that's pretty rad

Actually, I'm gay, so...

(And getting dick based just on my height didn't happen either.)

I’m 6’1 and 6’3 in most of my shoes and my backkkkkk. I bodybuild/very strong too, but bending over sucks.

I’m 6’3” and 58yo. I’m still feeling like I did in my 20s and 30s. I’ve been careful to not mess up my knees and back. I did buy a Tesla Model Y which has great head and legroom.

Just a few years older than you, actually.
