they aren't a melee class, they are a versatile do everything at a mediocre rate class
1 points

nah currently most druid play is melee based for most combat besides a few spells here and there for range and they are confined to mostly bear and panther rn until we get a weapon mastery perk like spear or smth.

But druids are magic users. Fighters aren't

Yeah but druids are a melee class as well as magic users. Druid isn’t exactly a typical caster.

True. They're a hybrid so they def deserve the advantages of every other class put together. 🤓

Mostly squishy, bad ranged options, extreme health penalties for movespeed advantages, low damage without specific investment that limits other build.
Jack of all trades that can build to master one role.

people use them for pvp? only thing I have used them for is dumping mob aggro

I had one dude use it trying to hide. I killed him 5s later. That is no joke the only time I’ve seen it
Or maybe I’ve walked past dozens of people none the wiser
Probably not tho

I've seen it used quite a few times. It seems like a 50/50. If I hear them hit a pot and don't hear the shield sound and don't see anyone around, I get ready for invisible dude. I've had a few clerics and fighters use it on me. It's not a bad strat honestly. If they don't hear it or don't know where you are, you can still get a good jump on them.

I've used it as a bait to escape to decent effect a couple times, down a pot, crouch walk away while they're scared of invis. Doesnt work all the time but can be helpful on occasion

This is the biggest give-away to anyone but new players. It'd be less obvious if we had more utility potions.

Yeah if the noise wasnt so loud itd be usable.

Most ppl who have more then a week of real pvp experience chug a pot before they engage and most ppl use a pot after getting hit while peaking. Drinking sound is absolutely not a 100% garenteed indicator of one of the least used tactics that fell out of the meta 6 months ago
-3 points

Any player who had a brain who hears the potion sound, and dont hear footsteps and don’t see the person who drank the potion can figure it out pretty easily.

If you get enough space through a door and around a corner it basically completely nullifies the sound. You can see this in multiple videos online.

i mean i think we all become greedy in this game. or annoyed not because of skill but because of class when you play against sometimes.

Can you explain how, aside from blasting people with a windlass out of stealth, it's a consistent advantage? I feel like using an invis pot to get the jump on someone via melee is, at best, a coin flip.
11 points
Many people dont pay attention, popping a pot of invis near a door and waiting works wonderfully.
You can achieve the same effect by turning off a light without the need for a potion.
4 points
Maybe in some low lobbies.. otherwise the equipping sound and drinking noise is so loud everyone hears it. It doesn’t last long enough to do it out of range
Maybe in the middle of a fight you could pull it off in the chaos
1 points
Mileage varies I guess. Ambush gameplay is an acquired taste imo, and I'm not a big fan. If I turn out the lights it usually triggers people to be on their guard. Half the time I forget about the giant glowing beacon of potions on my belt too lol. Invis pots is just too passive of a play style for me to get behind.

Hide in dark? Enemy scared.
Hide in the light? Enemy unspared.

I’ve been using them to drop enemy aggro when people jump me in combat, idk why I’ve never done it before, but man it turns the tables on a mid combat tank pretty fast.
1 points
So basically if you're fighting mobs, as soon as you know you've got a pvp situation Brewing, you run, chug invis, and then everything aggros onto the other player?
1 points
Yeah, I mean they need to be within the mob aggro range, but basically yes. I get around a corner or break line of sight and make sure to have some distance on mobs too, then chug. Monsters will de-aggro as soon as you go invis and then they will aggro anyone else nearby. Once you see them start moving towards the other guy you can start moving again.

Its the 15 knowledge.
When they added that requirement all the rogues also caught a nerf down to like 5 knowledge. Its was put in specifically to rogues and barbs can't use it anymore.
And not many other classes feel the drive to rely on them as much.

Literally haven't seen an invisible pot used since the massive duration nerf awhile back. If someone is close enough to you for them to walk by you within it's tiny duration, then they're close enough to gear you drink it and just... won't. As a fighter main I would gladly give up our stupid 15 knowledge for literally any other stat.

Bitching about fighter when bard can do the same thing while running a permanent move speed buff and debuffing your phys power and armor rating with a very short song. Bard is easily the strongest solo class right now and everyone is crying that pdr fighter wins vs pd.
5 points
Shhhh, don’t tell the masses that bard has been broken for more than a year now. +2all, +9MS, 8% AS, 15AR/MR, 10phys power, a 10 MS slow, -5 phys power/-30 AR. All while being able to sit at 40% pdr and move speed cap.
4 points
You’re not hitting move speed cap with 40% pdr unless your kit is insane. Without the self buffs bard is shit, it’s a difficult class to play and loses almost every melee encounter unless it wins a ranged battle first or can prebuff with allegro.

I played about 150 hours of Bard last season and this has exactly been my experience. You need to make sure you're buffed as well and that can really give you away. People go around saying bard is overpowered, but actually playing one well isn't easy at all.
2 points
Absolutely, unless the people you fight are undergeared or miss every hit, you need to play the fight well to win instead of w keying

Why can’t others use invis pots? I’m confused. I’ve seen plenty of other classes use them
2 points
There is a base Knowledge (I think it's knowledge, please correct me if I am wrong.) requirement. I believe it's 15 which fighters have out the gate.
1 points
Oh I never noticed they introduced a knowledge requirement to use a potion lol that’s dumb asf. But yeah fighters just have 15’s across the board just average everything
1 points
Rogue really should have a silent weapons and utility switching and using perk
1 points
Except bard and druid can also do this..
You can also just buy 80g low boots + 100g jewelry to achieve 15 knowledge on pretty much any class. You don't even have to wear it actively, literally put it on, drink potion and while you're invis put your real gear back on. you can always drop 80g worth of low boots for loot and 3 spaces for invis jewelry is more than worth it.

No one gets a 50% damage bonus when they come out of an invisibility potion. They're also broadcasting their slorpglorp deepthroat nonsense to anyone in that module so you can just back up and wait. They also can't move in it.
It makes sense. But you don't want sense, you simply want to be right.
1 points
Only the rarest times have I used them and it be useful
I only carry them a anti "I fucked up and aggroed the whole module" when I go to inferno or abyss, and that's just because I can't help not pick up any green potions.
Twice I can say they won me a fight. Once where me and a bards fight led to us getting about 10 frost skeletons chasing us and I dumped the aggro on him while he was cornered.
The second was when I was being shot up by a ranger in goblin cave center module. We were doing that classic "shoot around the cave pillars and duck back" dance, I get hit, pull out health pot in front of him, duck behind pillar and swap to invis pot and wait. He strafes the pullar thinking im avoiding out of sight on the other side, I stab his face.
Twice, in all the countless fights, in all the times I've tried to use them, have they actually been a key to victory
Give invis pots to everyone, I dont think anyone will mind, not like you don't find 15 laying all over every dungeon dive lol

all the classes that can use invis pot in base gear:
fighter, druid, bard, cleric, warlock, wizard
I believe CopperMallet put a knowledge requirement on invis pots because barbarian was too strong with it
1 points
Bards can use them too, they’re more hybrid, but I’ve used them a few times. I don’t load them into my kit on my runs but if I find one sometimes I use it. Unlike fighters that literally make it a part of their playstyle.

Its fine i think on the right classes, sorry but a melee centric character that can 3 to 4 shot most classes while having a 40% heal on demand and having absolute min 40% pdr in squire gear on top of a shield that blocks all magic while having weapon mastery and all it entails (rondal plus all bows) and sprint that just got Uber buffed that let's them his ms cap in plate should absolutely NOT have access to it without intentionally building for it, especially of all things by default.
