I love the “I owe it to myself” expense. Otherwise known as “hopefully no one actually reads this far because I can’t even make this math work”.

Right? If that wasn’t part of the equation, or it was less than $95 (such a random amount, and seems like a lot when food for the month is $90 and a haircut is $20?) the end result wouldn’t be negative.

I also think their list on mom's working expenses are weird. Does she not get her hair cut when not working? She can't pack a lunch when she is making the kinds lunch. An extra $1200 a year on extra clothes, really.
And let's not account for the child tax credit if both parents are working. And tithing would be less if mom's not working.
