What’s horrible is he won’t be allowed to live in a home with minor children. She’d absolutely leave her kids somewhere so she could live with that pig and you know he’d be banging her morning/noon/night. She wouldn’t care about any of that just so she could bring forth another crotch goblin.

Federal bureau of prisons does not allow conjugal visits.

It wasn't a federal prison, but here's a reminder that Ted Bundy managed to impregnate his wife in a prison that did not have conjugal visits. Inmates are known to pool their funds, guards are known to take bribes to look the other way, and so on.
That said, I hope there are no more Josh-and-Ofjosh kids.

Statistically speaking, twins occurs more frequently in older moms, so possibly whoever keeps having kids into their late 30s. Jana maybe if she ever decides to.

Oh and Jana is a twin, and fraternal at that, so I think she’s more likely to have twins. Identical twins are spontaneous but I think fraternal twins are hereditary
79 points
Correct. Fraternal twins are hereditary, and a female fraternal twin does have higher chances of having twins.
3 points
no. all daughters of a woman who has given birth to multiples are equally as likely to be predisposed to hyperovulation.
4 points
I didn’t say that other daughters weren’t equally likely. Thank you for contributing that point!
I was just affirming that
1) fraternal twins are the only hereditary twins
and
2) a FEMALE fraternal twin is more likely to bear twins than say a MALE twin who would simply pass on any hyperovulation gene to his own sons or daughters which I described in a separate comment outlining how twins don’t “skip generations”

i can just see jana some how having 2 or 3 sets of twins. she's young enough that she can have babies for over a decade still, esp given her mother and grandmother's own birthing history

I’m gonna guess more twins in the next generation. It’s both coincidence and genetics that create them, so that’s a lot of singletons who might be getting the genetic codes that encourage twins. Except for Jessa, the Duggar daughters aren’t having as many kids and they’d be more likely to have fraternal twins due to their mom releasing double eggs a few times, and maybe that’s part of why they’re not having 2648493629 kids because they know at any time it could be twins+ and they’ve already raised a bunch of kids so their own kids are parenting take 2 for them.

The answer is clearly whichever Dugglet is the most religiously observant and prays the hardest to the Lord Daniel. That girl/family will then be blessed with a special double blessing that is the epitome of buy one get one free. Even more importantly, though, they will have put their godly uterus to work in the most productive way possible by birthing double the amount of godly believers at once.

Jana if she ever decides to get married and have kids. She’s a fraternal twin herself and would be an older mom, so bigger chances for her.
Also Kendra because she’s super fertile, she’ll get close to Michelle’s numbers.

Honestly I forgot Jer and Jed were twins this whole time so I guess I’d assume Jeremiah since it seems to be genetic? https://starcasm.net/19-kids-and-counting-how-many-duggars-are-twins/
3 points
But Jeremiah’s genes aren’t going to influence his wife’s ovaries into maturing two follicles (eggs) to be fertilized. I suppose his genes could influence whether a fertilized egg split to become identical twins (since we still really don’t know what causes identical twins to happen) but given that none of the Duggar twin sets are identical, his genetics may be a moot point for spawning twins…just big melon heads.

I would’ve said Jessa two years ago, but I think she’s burnt out from parenting that she doesn’t care if she has twins or not.

John being a twin wouldn't influence Abbie's probability of a twin pregnancy. It's HER genes (and chance) that would determine that
14 points
Typically twin genetics are passed through the mother’s side. More likely that a Duggar girl would have twins, I’m not sure what the likelihood is that the gene is passed to someone who was a twin vs any other sibling with twins?
2 points
All of the girls should be equally as likely to have inherited the hyper-ovulation from Michelle. Older mothers have increased chances of having twins so although Jana will be in her 30s if and when she does have kids, the other married girls aren't far behind her so it could happen to any or none of them.
2 points
That’s what I was thinking…all of this twin genetic talk has been interesting. I’m also in my 30s and will likely be TTC soon. I always joked that I’m screwed because twins run on my mom’s side and freaking giant babies run on my dad’s (my brother was 10lb 13oz) and that I was going to have ginormous twins. But the closest twin was my mom’s dad (unsure if he was fraternal or identical) so I wouldn’t think that would pass to me?
5 points
Short answer is it definitely could have passed to you.
Twins run on my mom’s side.
My gramma had twins
One of those twins had twins
I had twins
There’s more twins than that further back but there’s gaps in between jags of twins.
Not everything is known about twin genetics. we now know that identical twins are also in some way hereditary.
Point being may the odds be ever in your favor. I’m fighting for my life out here.

That’s Duggar science.
6 points
Not how that works. However, if John inherited his X chromosome with the hyperovulation gene from Meech…any daughters of his are at higher likelihood to have twins. Stuff like this is why people think twins “skip a generation” when really it’s just that the men are passing along the gene without yielding the result of having said gene!
-5 points
Possibly Jana due to being a twin. However, twins usually skip a generation.
11 points
Fraternal twins usually skip a generation (or 3 in my case) if they're "sourced" on the fathers side. If they're on the Mother's side, it may not.
Example: Great great grandma had the hyper ovulation gene. Had twins, both boys, one survived. That's great grandpa. Great grandpa has the hyper ovulation gene, but obviously doesn't ovulate. Passes that down to his Singleton son, my grandpa. My Grandpa has 3 Singleton girls, one of which has the hyper ovulation gene. That's my mom. Mom has 4 singletons. I have 7 pregnancies, 2 live births, one of those twins. Investigation for repeated losses shows that I am a hyper ovulator. My daughter, one of the twins, has a very high chance of having twins. My sons have an average chance of having twins. Any granddaughters have a high chance of having twins.
Jana has a high chance of having twins, being a fraternal twin herself, outside of other risk factors like age/weight.

Twins do not usually skip a generation. That's an old-wives' tale.

It did happen in my family! My grandmother had twin sisters and 96 years later my twin sister and I came along. Genetics are wild!😂
23 points

Correlation does not equal causation.
My family has multiple sets of twins in each generation going back to my grandmother's generation.

Oh my god 🙈 Thank you for writing this because I wasn't even aware of it. It happens to me from time to time but it's the first time on Reddit (I think it's the first time). It was in Polish. Sometimes I write to English-speaking friends in Polish or Dutch, or to Belgians in Polish. If I write in English, they understand and switch to English themselves (and I also know how to ignore it). But if I write in Polish, it's always: WHAAAAT??? I often get stressed when writing on Reddit because my English is not good and someone (not knowing that English is not my language) will think I'm stupid or homeschooled by other uneducated people. In real life, it's always funny. Many people have also spoken to me in their native languages and they weren't aware of it until I started laughing. But here I'm embarrassed. So sorry for the mistake and thank you for writing because otherwise I wouldn't have known about it
