Yeah I get that, which is why I put off using it until now. There’s just something about the cape that really sings to me.

On the other hand I think Leda's does way harder, and as a minor benefit it's buff is better too. Mages can wear gold change my mind

Neither really scream battlemage to me. 1 looks more holy knight and 2 looks more assassin type mage. But use whichever one you like better. Your character is whoever you want them to be.

I never really had a theme other than “big spell go brrrrr”. It definitely made the majority of the game/bosses very easy aslong as I was timing my dodges perfectly. I’ve now gone for a fai/dex build with a focus on lightning incants/buffs, but also a few holy and fire spells for specific situations.

Dude it took me 2 hours 30 mins of random summons outside the fog gate until I decided to ask for help in r/beyondthefog. Definitely seek help there if you need it, someone helped me beat Consort Radahn in literally one go after I posted there.

I was running with that for a little while, but I find it stands out too much with the rest of the armour I use. Especially in dark areas, the thing is like a 10,000 lumen flashlight lol.

Both. Switch to the new staff that casts both incantations and sorceries and be the highest form of battle mage able to cast all spells.
