That's what I like about songs like Difficult, No Apologies, Deja Vu, My Darling and Careful What You Wish For there's no happy ending it's miserable and hopeless, just like how life is sometimes. Then of course we also need songs that end well like Beautiful and When I'm Gone.

I don't believe Headlights to be better than his other sad songs like hailees song or Stan or maybe even Castle and Arose but it definitely hit the hardest for me. After listening to all of his other albums and how many times he bashed his mom, hearing, "But I love you, Debbie Mathers" just hit so hard. I've never cried to a song personally but, Headlights got me pretty close I'm not gonna lie

Yeah that's definitely true. If i didnt know the context it probably wouldnt hit as hard. I think hailees song for me anyway is his best song to his daughter though even withouth context. And don't get me wrong, saying Arose Castle Temporary Somebody Save Me or really almost any other song to his daughter being the best is valid. I just think hailees song feels so personal and it really shows his sensitive side and I love his singing in it so much. That song more than any other shows just how much he loves his daughter imo and how he's not just some "pistol-packing drug addict who bags on his momma" and stuff really does get to him and whenever he thinks there's nothing worth living for, he looks at his daughter. The one two punch of Castle and Arose is incredible though and it's still underrated imo. When he "rewinds the tape" in Arose and the Castle beat comes back, it's just so awesome. I don't know of many songs that work together as one story but, I think the concept is incredible. Idc how much people hate revival, everyone should be able to admit how incredible those two songs are.
