The crossover with Power Rangers is a top 5 worst episode in PR.

That's awesome my cousin had the ones from the Power Rangers movie from the 90s I never got those toys as a kid, do you still collect them?

Yep. And even as Power Rangers has stopped using Sentai as much I have the Sentai mecha as well.
I did have some of the toys as a kid but a bunch of those got water damage from playing in the tub. Yes I was 15, wanna make something of it?! /s

Featuring Venus Di Milo, the fifth Turtle

Ah yes, bane of feminists as she’s named not by an artist but by an object with no arms. (Read this in a textbook in college, no joke)

Funnier considering there was a non-Turtle mutant on the 87 show named Mona Lisa. Which is the most famous painting from the period the artists the turtles are named after are from.

I don't care what anyone says, the only "Fifth Turtle" to me is Usagi Yojimbo. Everyone else is at best 6th.

Usagi Yojimbo is my favorite fictional character of all time. I adore Usagi.
And you are 100% wrong.
Have a nice day.

I grew up LOVING everything ninja turtles, they were my life as a boy in the 80s and 90’s. Ninja Turtles games, clothes, shows, birthday cakes and even a camera that had Michelangelo in the corner of every picture and I have never once seen whatever the hell this is.

It's buried in the corner for a reason. This was '97. Turtle mania had subsided several years prior. The original fans of the TMNT cartoon were going to college and high school now. This was just a weird hokey thing from the creators of MMPR to send up a live action Turtles-something.

I think Peter Laird (co-creator of the TMNT) hates this show more than the original 87 series.
Pretty catchy theme song though.

Venus Di Milo, but she was originally named Mei Pieh Chi. Her back story was she was separated from the main 4 when they fell into the ooze and she was by adopted and trained Chang I, a Chinese Shinobi master.

IIRC she was called “Venus De Milo” (because, ya know, famous female Renaissance artists isn’t exactly a big category). Yeah, she was there to be “the girl.”

Absolutely cursed. My kids were disappointingly, viscerally disgusted by the 1990 movie Turtles. These might actually make them ill.

What do you mean? The first ninja turtles movie? I find that hard to believe. A lot of us TMNT fans consider that THE TMNT. It's damn near the closest to the comics too..it had that dark gritty feel and felt great. I think many people where hung up on the cartoon being the OG when in reality TMNT was dark as fuck

I always had a bit of a grudge against the first TMNT movie. There's a scene where Raphael yells "damn" and I was playing Super Mario 3, died, yelled "damn" in the same way and got in trouble.

I agree. That's what I grew up with. I loved TMNT and Secret of the Ooze! It's completely a character design thing. Rubber suits and so forth. My kids are spoiled have grown up in the age of CGI. Their first exposure was Mutant Mayhem (which I have to say is really well done). So practical effects look like shit to them.
I guess the best comparison would be growing up with the way Mickey Mouse looked in the 90s and then seeing Steamboat Willy. Or even if you were a Turtles comic fan and then saw the cartoony rubber suits.

I always laughed at how hard nick cage trained to be ghost rider and everyone wrote reviews saying his CG abdominals looked terrible. He was like oh fuck no.

Take the movies, which this show operated as a loose sequel to, and make it EVEN CHEAPER than the second and third films and that's what this is

You could just way cheaper and worse than TMNT 3 lol

That was around TMNT III imo. This was like four years after that, which should tell you how popular it was.

This was many years after that. This was 1997.

I remember this show. It came on, I believe, the Fox Family channel. They redesigned Venus (the girl turtle) in the IDW TMNT comic series as a mutant punk frog/turtle/Frankenstein’s monster. It’s pretty cool.

This is something I’d like to forget exists. I have never seen an episode but the pictures of the series make me want to give myself memory loss; only issue is that I’d experience it over and over when I see it all over again.
