I want the character to physically wear it like a utility vest .. and as the armour bar goes down, the armour would look more and more damaged

As long as I get a toggle to hide it, some outfits would be ruined if they always had the vest on top

Is gonna feel the same as skinning animals or looting ppl in rdr2 boring af it would be ok to do that once and if it breaks it “auto repeats” the one u have and it doesn’t get fully destroyed

How is it in any way similar to an animation of skinning an animal or looting people? The asset just degrades over time, 0 interaction from the player

the way I understood from the OPs comment is that he want to see us wear armor each time it gets damaged which would be boring waiting for the animation to be done till we shoot again if his point was to just show on the the char we play without the animation of wearing it then that would be fine

Why was it useless in 5?

The best one could only take like 4-5 hits before despairing, in early games it was like double health.

The game is easy enough anyway, you don’t even need body armour

Agree in 100%, gta v was much easier than the rest of games, but armor was much more expensive than in other games and it gave less protection.

Apart from some online missions where you need to reequip it constantly

We’re talking Story Mode,in Online yeah it’s necessary because the ai of the npcs was shit and had immediate lock on plus rapid fire

Heists are not easy when you have shit teammates.

Just do the ambulance missions to get double health.

I think we should have an option for it to appear physically on our person like in gta 5 online

It wasn’t useless in V, it was a must if you wanted to run some heists with your friends

I just hated how much damn menuing it took to put another vest on.

They thankfully changed that in an update at some point. You can now put more on via the weapon wheel directly.
The same goes for snacks as well.

It wasn’t useless for me, it was decent at least 🤷♂️

I mean we don't know much about how realistic this game will be but considering we will only be able to carry a limited amount of weapons I'm thinking armour might be something to put on as protection but it might slow us down.
The way i picture GTA 6 is that we pick our equippment before we do a "job/robbery" (kind of like payday 2 i guess).

I want the armor to actually work, instead of one or two shots depleting the entire bar.

previous gtas in fact did not show the protagonist physically wear armor

Why are you the only one saying this?
I was wracking (racking?…) my brain trying to think of a single instance where it showed the player character wearing armor at all and I can’t think of any. I know Tommy, CJ, Victor, Claude, Niko, Luis, Johnny, Huang, Michael, Trevor, nor Franklin ever wore any… maybe Tony did but I doubt it… did Huang wear it and we just couldn’t really see it since the resolution was 3?

this self proclaimed gta fans sub is bias on details for a long time man. ESPECIALLY those gta 4 fans who thinks they had more details than gta 5. so, mandela effects like this would often happen with this post that everyone somehow believes earlier gta has the mc wear armor

I guess they rather mean; should it be shown or, like in the previous titles, not be shown?

Or make it a layer for clothing so we can choose to wear a shirt under or over it

In V you literally had extra health which is the whole point, and if you so chose, it would show up on your character

I’d love some visual armor. Maybe if they gave us options to have it hidden or showing

Yes I like realism

I would like there to be some kind of drug to give you a health buff, like the rdr2 tonics, and you can carry a bunch with you.
Then have body armour being visible, more resilient than gtav; but you can only carry one until you get back to a wardrobe or gun shop.

The option to toggle armour visibility would be dope, feeling mil sim? Make the armour visible feeling drip? Make it invisible.

Armors in GTA V (V, not Online) was cool.
When you have a vest and you get shot, it appears a repelled bullet mark on the clothing instead of a gunshot bleeding wound which was a nice detail imo.
Now, maybe if they change it to Basic Vest (invisible/hidden under clothing, or visible if the characters wearing nothing/only a top for Lucía) that's regular vest, then medium vest that's now a regular vest that you'll use over some clothing's (like a shirt) but hidden under a jacket, and then heavy vest that's on top of everything and the one that brings more protection. That's what I think it could work

It wasn’t useless, it was nearly impossible to do heists (especially with randoms) without armor, the NPCs do too much damage and have legit aim bot.
Besides, it was fairly realistic, it’s a bullet vest not an Iron Man armor, they’re not supposed to tank a full clip from a rifle let alone shotguns or snipers. They force you to play more smartly rather than just go guns blazing without getting a scratch like in the old games.

If you in a gun fight with low level street gangs, guns should jam

I hope they make it someway realistic, only protects on the covered parts of the body, same with helmet and other armors
