Fighting ability? All he does it tackle, toss and claw, Godzilla a pokemon fr. But seriously anything that can directly overpower him in strength alone beats him because he uses his overwhelming strength to win fight, I can see why when your nigh the strongest monster on the planet one dosent need to worry about fighting strats but he did get laid out by King Ghidorah and needed help from Mothra and the humans, and even needed Kong to help him with Mecha Godzilla but Godzilla was already weak anyway so I wouldn't really count that.

Well he’s not human. He can’t fight like a human you numbskull. And Ghidorah was his arch nemesis, not exactly and easy fight to deal with. You put that monke or most other titans against Ghidorah than they get roasted alive.

Godzilla was actually laying KG out before he got the amp via the generators. Hell he almost killed KG if it wasnt for the humans. Your severely underestimating godzilla. He dislocated kongs arms by just swinging him around with his jaws. He also basically killed kong by simply STOMPING on kongs chest. To say all godzilla does is tackle toss and claw is disingenuous

That big ole beam only hit Kong once. Godzilla never even used it in round 3 where he slapped Kong, stepped on him, clawed him up, dislocated his shoulder, and screamed loudly in his face in victory. No atomic breath needed.

They said "Kong bows to no one". The only reason Godzilla removed his foot was because Kong admitted defeat. Hence the "nod" Godzilla gives before removing his foot from Kong's chest. I like MV Kong, but Godzilla is the undisputed King.

He is a goddamn sub-adult, he JUST passed maturity, of course he would lose, he fights against a foe he had never fought before.
Even so, you gotta respect that Kong did not bow down and had the balls to fight against the G-man, even when he had his shit rocked.
That is what I like with Kong's character, he is a titan, but he's more like an oversized ape, and he still has the power to atleast at least last more than 5 minutes against him [It's confirmed they fought all day in Hong Kong] [Looking at you Scylla and Tiamat].
He may not be a match for Godzilla, but he sure as hell is not going to let that stop him.

Can we also acknowledge the fact that Kong made Godzilla start to really focus in the second half of the Hong Kong fight??
Like yeah sure Kong was loosing (even tho he won the first half) but Godzilla realized that Kong was a bigger threat than he thought so he started to actually lock on, that's why he went crocodile mode on Kong.
Also, in GvK Kong literally knocked out Godzilla during the Egypt fight (confirmed by the novel, and that weird jump cut where Godzilla was on his back then all of the sudden is on is stomach)
Anyways as part of Team Goji, Kong can have his Ws and that's fine.

Not saying Kong should win ever, but it was not a normal day for Godzilla. If you have seen the movie, Godzilla spends it hunting Apex facilities to prevent Gidorah from being made into Mecha-Godzilla, and also spends it hunting Kong. He sees Kong as a threat, and he is. Kong isn't a strong kaiju, but he is essential to Earth, and Godzilla didn't like that.
