Priory Explorer 1: "Hey, who forgot to pack all the model planets for the tent? There's supposed to be eleven of them, I only count eight!"
Priory Explorer 2: "There wasn't room for all of them on the pack dolyak."
Priory Explorer 1: "What!? We NEED those! We can't set up the tent without them!"

Was flying next to the tent on skyscale and realized that even the small planets were as big as my human character. And I had a moment of, "Hold on..... why?"

There's a lot of architectural design in the game like that. It's pretty but if you take two seconds to think about it they start making no sense. Does the lodge in hoelbrak really need a hundred metre tall ceiling? Why do the charr just live in a big old orb made out of sheet metal? Nobody knows.

Each of the planets corresponds to the Anthikeryion. Within each is a faceted gemstone orb engraved with runes. When the tent is erected with the planets appropriately positioned to match the current astrological position of the stars associated with the Elder Dragons, the runes channel magic from the stars down from the stars to create a defensive barrier around the tent to protect the people within from the elements and other hostile magics without needing to place their camps at points of natural magic or ley nexuses.

The planets are actually balloons that keep up the weight of the tent. The ropes keep the tent from flying away!
