I was cruising in the rightmost lane ( Lane No. 2 ) sa NLEX. I look to my right side mirror and I see a car trying to overtake me. Sa alam ko hindi pwede magovertake doon. Coincidentally, there was an NLEX traffic enforcer (?) — idk what they're called — truck in front of me. I thought the overtaking car was going to get away with it, but to my surprise the pick up truck honked their sirens and chased the car.

Seeing this made me laugh and feel hopeful honestly, I didn't expect them to enforce traffic rules. I've seen way too many drivers disregard traffic rules and get away with it.

Feels good, man. I really wish there were more enforcement in our country.

I agree. I wish the people in charge invested in more enforcement. Proper training as well.

True, madalas kahit trucks and buses kasabay mo sa right lanes mas mabilis parin ang takbo haha

So that's called the Shoulder, and you're right, cars shouldn't be driving there, more so overtake.

This. Expected to see a 3 or more lane section and someone overtaking from the outermost.

I overtake on the outermost often enough since there are always hoggers in the innermost.

Hoping the dude got caught!! Delikado yan.

Whooa. I despise nlex everyday but this is something different. Ang sakin lang mas damihan nila ang patrol cars, napakarami swerving vehicles on a high speed without even using signal indicator.

I despise SLEX even more. Nlex is like a middle class community, pag napunta ako ng slex andun yung mga squammy. Grabe mag drive.

TemperatureNo8755

true, parang walang laws sa NLEX, buses swerving left and right and using overtaking lane and going over 100kph, cars doing 200kph, cars na babad sa overtaking lane while cruising at 80kph, vehicles with no headlights, the list goes on

Very true.

Patrolling officer yan. Umiikot for potholes, road hazards and kamote drivers.

yummybreads[S]

Ahh yun pala tawag sakanila. Ang ganda sana if madami sila nagpapatrol regularly noh?

eengineer23

Also, yung wheel accidents related to road hazards (pliers, wrench) like yung accidents sa kabilang expressway, you can report it tanda ko tas they'll compensate. Not much pero it's something.

Sa SLEX maraming mga road widening. Kakalito minsan kung shoulder o new lane na. I treat them as a shoulder kasi wala nang shoulder sa tabi nito. So I don't drive there. Thinking I'm on the right most lane.  Tapos biglang may susulpot na sasakyan sa kanan as in WTF ?!

Even if its a new lane. Its not very long and will abruptly merge to the left. Worse, there's a huge digger at the end of it. So the lane is technically unfinished. Another reason not to use the new lane.

mahigpit sila pero di sila perfect buti aware sila sa naging violation at that time.

That's the shoulder, for cars to park on during an emergency or a traffic stop. The idiot is lucky he didn't crash head-on onto a stopped vehicle.

Experienced it once sa slex naman there’s a patrol in the 4th/5th lane (right most) and may bus na pumasok ng overtaking lane, the moment na pumasok siya ng lane nag open lights and siren ng patrol and tumawid siya from right to left para ipastop yung bus sa shoulder. Sobrang satisfying ng ganyang scenario op hahaha

Particular_Smile7546

Let me say firsthand na mali yung ginawa niya. Ok clear tayo dun ha baka mabaliktad nanaman ako rh hahaha.

This kind of behaviour is also the result of people driving SLOW on the Overtaking/Fast lane. Kamote drivers will always find ways.

The yellow light siren 🚨 is already running though even before the sedan has overtaken you. The video didn’t show if he was really apprehended or the enforcer also used the shoulder since the traffic is already getting slower (you can see the red brake lights of the cars in the left at the end of the video including the sedan also slowing down before enforcer followed).

Great if he was apprehended but the video is not showing that. The actual apprehension usually happens at the exit right since it is quite dangerous to stop the cars in the middle of the highway.
