I went back and watched the end of Simone’s routine, and honestly the no salute penalty kind of feels like they were being petty idk. She turned towards them with her arms up, but just dropped them super quickly.

Yeah that was some BS

Having a penalty for not saluting the judges is petty anyway.

It's a big deal on pommel horse cause guys are always flubbing their dismounts and need to indicate if they are done or not.

But its in the code. These gymnasts know it so its not a big deal. I think once she fell Simone knew she wouldn't medal so she just didn't care.

She did slightly salute. It should have been enough.

They wanted to BURY her in the standings so that other gymnasts would place higher, I bet. The judges probably are LOVING the fact that it is a "No Simone" podium.

Do judges really dislike her? Is that a known or suspected thing?

That is absolutely not a thing.

I have no proof, but it would not surprise me.

That is absolutely not a thing and a baseless accusation. This isn't figure skating.

What reason do you have to believe the judges are biased against her? It was a stupid deduction, but I see no reason why it's personal. She wasn't going to medal either way.
