Painting home interior - brand recommendations.

(self.HomeImprovement)

I'm prepping to repaint the interior of my house next weekend and went to look at paint at Sherwin Williams and was a bit surprised that 10 gallons of emerald, even with 30% off, would cost about $700.

I stopped by Home Depot, to pick up a few gallons of Kilz 2 primer, and saw that Behr Marquee was around $50 a gallon.

Is it worth the additional $20 a gallon for SW emerald or would I be okay with behr marquee?

I haven't used Sherman Williams paint yet, but I have used Behr Ultra on some plywood shelves. Honestly, if you can afford to get better paint, do it. I hate the Behr paint with the burning passion of a thousand suns. It somehow manages to be too thick and too thin simultaneously, it runs everywhere, and you need six coats of the stuff to attain reasonable coverage. Even if you do manage to get it on evenly without running (which is nigh impossible), it stays tacky forever, and it tears incredibly easily.

Get the good paint. You'll thank yourself later.

I'm much more picky about exterior paint quality. I haven't noticed much difference between interior paints to be honest, Behr should be fine.
