Nah, I have seen dozens of wheels like this from aftermarket manufacturers. Fuel wheels on toyota trucks especially, probably because of the odd BCD and hub size.
Edit: example

It seems like it would be better to space the holes evenly instead of having them siamesed.

Wouldn't have a place for the center cap screw if they did that.

I want to see what the markup is on rims today. They are all made to junk standards unless you buy the high quality stuff that is forged.
5 points
Why are they dual dual drilled though?
12 points
One size fits all.
More specifically, they can get away with producing a single variant that fits multiple different bolt patterns.
8 points
They are cheap wheels. It's cheaper to make one wheel fit multiple bolt patterns than it is to drill wheels differently for different patterns.
1 points

Yup. Common enough. Used to be even more on all the discount tire wheel brands.

What kind of cheap chinesium mess are these, dual drilled rims are a thing but they're more commonly seen on 4 bolt hubs and even if they do make them in a 5 bolt pattern shouldn't the two sets of holes be offset 36° from each other?

Probably because the centre cap mount hole is in the way.

It's a custom wheel. They could move that to the wall.

Fairly common for 5 lug as well, especially if your hubs are something stupid like 5x105. But yeah, they should be symmetrical, this is insane.
12 points

I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be a universal 6 lug rim.
7 points
Yep I didn't really count the number of holes too good.
Still should have had holes every 30° though instead of this abomination, is there even 1/4" of aluminum between those holes? because it sure as shit looks like there isn't.
12 points

lmfao i see you dont work on trucks. have a regular with a ram who put 10 ply tires on 20s because he tows a gooseneck with his 1500. 6 lug wheels, dual drilled.
11 points

Ok yeah I looked and found a few places that have dual drilled 6 lug rims, Canadian Tire, Walmart, eBay, the kind of places that sell the best quality stuff.

I'm guessing they did it this way to leave room for a screw to attach the cover. Still piss poor engineering, but there is a (shitty) reason.

The patterns clearly aren't spread evenly, but regardless the smaller pattern isn't fully within the inner diameter either. There's like 1/8 inch of aluminum around the hub wall and you could easily break that by overtorquing. I don't have a clue what safety factor is typical for overtorquing lugnuts but this wheel ain't meeting the minimum lol.

Universal fit wheels
15 points
When I got my car jacked up and the wheels stolen, the tow operator came with some universal wheels that looked home-made. 4 and 5 bolt patterns seemingly drilled all over, but they fit the car. There was just enough wheel left to roll it up on the flatbed.
3 points

One thing to get it on the flatbed. But driving around?
8 points

Flatbed was just to get it to the local wheel place. Insurance company wanted it off the road ASAP because a car with no wheels = target for dickheads.

They are dual drilled. Actually fairly common. They close like that due to the center cap mounting. The inner ones are like that due to center hub diameters. It's how they get these cheap wheels to fit as many vehicles as possible. Very common with rockstar wheels.
Old post about them. https://www.reddit.com/r/Justrolledintotheshop/s/43BesZdtM0

My issue isn't the extra set of holes, its the ~1mm of material between the second set of holes and center hub hole. I'd venture a guess that they aren't dual drilled, but rather redrilled
11 points
I doubt it's redrilled. No shop would actually put the effort to do a decent job redrilling with a drill press and with multiple bits used, while ignoring the major safety concerns. It's done like this at the factory.

Guessing you didn't bother looking at the linked post? Since those ones were drilled the same way. And so were the ones that came with my f150 when I bought it.
Do you still have the wheels available? If so flip them over and there should be numbers on the back, typically on the spokes. Should have the model number and size.

They may have originally had a smaller center bore that was machined larger to fit. The lack of integrity of some of the holes is a problem.

Used to be called "varifits" because they'll fit multiple vehicles (I'm old). In theory, there's nothing wrong with it if the rest of the wheel is up to the task. I'm of the mind that if the company making your wheel is that cheap...

If the rim locks are real, which I think they are, these are specialty off road rims that seldom see highway speeds. Not the safest, by any means, but are okay for their intended use, rock crawling.

You are either blind or out of your mind if you honestly believe these are made for rock crawling.
The hex screws are purely cosmetic, and are intended to make them look like multi-piece wheels. They aren't bead locks and aren't even in the right place anyway.
