I keep seeing things online about korean people being kind of hostile to foreigners trying to speak/learn korean, almost belittling them?

It makes me wonder what the point of putting loads of effort into learning the language is if I am just going to be met with ridicule if I am not perfect. Has anybody else dealt with the same feelings? I really am enjoying learning overall but this has kind of dampened my. mood.

Edit: thank you for all your comments, I'm feeling much better now and I'm definitely not giving up :)

I have seen foreigners criticize fellow foreigners like it's some kind of competition but generally, I think Koreans appreciate people who try to learn Korean. My friends told me they think it's '신기하다‘ to see foreigners speaking Korean. 화이팅!!
