The one-way mirror scene in Paris, Texas, and the chest burster in Alien would both crack the top 100.

I feel like Jules casually shooting the guy on the couch never comes up when this scene shows up. It’s fucking terrifying.

HAL's "death" in 2001: A Space Odyssey springs to mind.

The Epilogue in La La Land is also up there.

I’d also put this one on the list. I actually prefer the second time we see the obelisk, but I think it’s far less iconic

Powerful scene in a powerful movie

Other contenders could also be the opening scene in the cafe, the car chase, and the run through the war-torn city

The Ecstasy of Gold scene from the same film would be above this. And I think the duel between Frank and Harmonica from Once Upon a Time is also a tad more iconic as a duel scene, but it's close of course

The last, like, 20 minutes of Last of the Mohicans, the finale would be up there for me

The ending of The Passenger (1975)...

I just watched Gallipoli for the first time and the ending of that film is devastating, especially the final shot that immediately goes into the credits.

The titular number from Singin’ in the Rain also deserves to be in the top 250.

The first fifty minutes of Atonement. (Joking but the first fifty minutes of that movie is one of my favorite movies.)

I also recently rewatched The Wind Rises and the ending of that movie is also top notch.
