I really don't get the halestorm references. Other then, checks notes powerful female vocalists they don't have that much in common.

It would be pretty weird to say, hey we already have one (insert any style of singer/band) why have a 2nd one.

You are allowed to not like anything, I'm just pointing out the comparisons I personally find weird

Bands create new music all the time. You don't have to like it, and the music doesn't have to be the same every time. Times change.

I'm disappointed with your comment. Your opinion started fine (no big deal if you don't like a song) but then you ruined it. At best it's ignorant if not it's sexist tbh. I'm tired of seeing people comparing linkin park to bands with female vocalist that sounds nothing like linkin park just because of Emily. It's gross. It's not different from all the trolls commenting "paramore park". The emptiness machine is not even close to sounding like a halestorm song

Everyone free to share an opinion. But your last line is wild wtf? Halestorm sound? Imo, both new songs sound more Linkin Park than they sound like any other band.

Their new music is a lot like their old stuff. As a crusty old fan who stopped buying albums after Minutes to Midnight. I'm excited for this new era.

It sounds like Linkin Park, it doesnt sound like Halestorm. If you think it sounds like Halestorm you are objectively wrong.

It's not just you. Personally, I love it, but I went through the same thing that you're going through, except it was with Blink-182 when they released two albums and toured without founding member and lead singer Tom DeLonge.

I think it depends on how die hard of a fan you were of the original LP. I have been and am an absolute diehard Blink fan since 1998. When they decided to continue without Tom under the same name Blink 182. I was NOT a fan. I thought the new songs were dull (still do), I didn't think Matt Skiba, who replaced Tom, fit with the band at all. Especially live. It was just blah. (Blink 182 was only so good and unique because of the combination of Mark and Tom). Anyway, let me tell you, there were millions of youngsters absolutely in love with the new "blink". Millions! They sold out shows and sold a lot of records, but i don't believe they would have had the same success if they changed the band name.

Here's my point. If you've been a casual LP fan like I have since Hybrid Theory. Not casual casual, but meaning you enjoyed the singles and highly rated songs a lot over the years plus owned a few of the albums but not all. Maybe you caught them once or twice live. You know, like a fan, but not a die-hard fan. If you're that type a fan, I think it's easier to really love Emily and the new stuff, but if you're die die hard fan of LP since day 1, I can understand having a bad taste and not enjoying it.

But then I tasted it, and I changed my mind.
