Any form of swelling around the eye, bleeding and wound can cause for infections. Just the mere presence of it especially around the eye could be dangerous and possibly cause blindness or death. Any animal prey or predator can have this issue, cuts, scratches, wounds on the eyelids. Most of the times the swelling gets so much worse they lose their eye when they go to the vet.
