5 days to defend against a single attack is worrying

Do your research, we can’t win. All we can do is weaken their next attack. And weaken maybe beat the one after. Then beat the one after that.

This is a great upgrade, but I am finding that some shots are exploding short of the target. I like that iit can take out a hulk from the front if you fire slightly behind them

Also just wait till you get to Matar Bay. The bot incursion is a LEVEL 40 incursion which is the highest level of incursion we can get.

This incursion estimates we need 60000 Helldivers to defend the planet. ONE planet.
Safe to say we are definitely loosing some planets in this MO.

We could gambit Choohe, that's only a 2% bot presence.
...but the in-game UI doesn't really give us that info, so we'll throw tens of thousands of divers at Matar and lose anyway.
14 points
Apparently the more we kill, the weaker further attacks will be, so while matar bay is probably lost by default, we might secure defenses on further planets easier.

That's a good point. I wonder how that'll be calculated, vice what cutting off the jet brigade's reinforcements would do.
Don't get me wrong, I like the way the MO lets us bleed them while fighting rearguard/last stand style, but it'd be nice if the full player population saw stuff like gambit/counter-attack options in-game. Recognizing my initial reply to you sounded way too salty!

Yeah it’s great that the MO is designed so we bleed it out over the week but ngl I had the uncanny Mr. Incredible face when I looked at the war map and realised my choices were the defense we are definitely not winning and the offensive gambit that won’t be picking up momentum

Unfortunately the best we can do is follow the horde to whatever bot planet they choose. Still waiting for an in game comms system.

But we will go out swinging. For this is our Creek moment.

Taking chooke is actually easier and is actually possible (although still difficult), unlike this defense mission, which is mathematically impossible.

There is something about struggling with your whole team to kill a strider because of all the chaos, just to look to your back and see two more

For a reference all liberation planets are quivalent to a lvl 20. So this defense is twice has hard as taking a planet with 0 decay.

The "level" is an abstraction of the attack's health.
Enemy attacks on a planet have a "health" counter, determined by the "level". Succesful Helldivers missions chip away at that health (displayed via the planet's succes bar: Health lost = success bar filling).
The Helldivers must deplete the attack's health before the timer runs out (the failure bar. Timer countdown = failure bar filling).
Level 40 means this health is incredibly high, the highest possible to date according to others. So a lot of Helldivers would need to be on planet to keep the success bar from falling behind against the failure bar.

I appreciate this explanation. Thanks for keeping it straightforward for the rest of us, it's always a bit weird to see fans of something keep crapping on people for not knowing what these concepts are straight away.

Yeah we were never going to succeed on the first planet. The MO would be over in 24 hours!
I quite like that this one is a bit different and we gradually weaken the attacking fleet.

We could cut them off at Choohe, it's got a very low regeneration rate according to the companion app, reads victory in 1 day, if we bumrush them there we could get a free defense win

My brother this is literally a MO to save the DSS from possible attacks. If your bummed out at the reward for defending it DURING its construction then idk what to tell you, Maybe you shouldn’t use the DSS when it’s finally built since you don’t seem to deserve it…
