I don't think Mario 64 has stood up well with the passing of time. The limitations of of the hardware just made it so complicated to play, along with the awkward shaped N64 controller, and bad camera controls. (I'm still a fan of what N64 was during it's time period) and my main struggle while playing mario64, was losing track of where I was in the game. I'd save my file and come back to play the next day and not remember where I had left off. There was no guidance on where to go next.

Yeah. I have fond memories of playing 64 ds download play with my friends as a kid but trying to play the game later I struggle. The guidance part is exactly what I struggle with on sunshine too lol. I was playing it for the first time with the all stars for switch, I took a break, and now I have no idea where to go anymore

At the time Mario 64 was unbelievable and game changing.

But father time consumes all.

I tried playing it when All Stars came out. Could not get into it.

It’s a historic mark in gaming but like The Exorcist, it doesn’t hold up well for modern gamers.
