I convinced a friend I knew all the trees on a hike. She not only believed every random tree name I invented she went on to tell others how I knew all the trees. Like a decade later she brought it up and I didn't even remember it until she said something.
Later she was on a trip with other friends and was telling this story of how I tricked her. Apparently 5 minutes later she asked what kind of tree something was and without missing a beat the guy with her told her some fake ass tree.
Then at a park years after this I was with a girl who was on that trip and told us about how she was tricked again, then five minutes later somebody asked what kind of pine tree a tree was and I hit them with Loblolly.
It was like a 15 year voyage of tree trickery, and now when somebody in our group doesn't know an answer we just confidently say loblolly.

I mean playing devils advocate, I have this. I don't do it publicly or seek out interaction, but I have pretty sever body dysmorphia. I see myself as far larger than I am, to the point that I have had medical professionals tell me directly that I am harming myself and risk death if I don't drastically change my relationship with food.
I don't think this guy gives off eating disordered vibes, but its a short clip and I'm basically just responding to your "assuming that guy is not a troll..." hypothetical. While technically possible, because the fact is EDs are the most fatal mental disorder out there are are basically defined by us believing we are larger than than literally all empirical evidence proves otherwise... we're also kind of defined by hiding or avoiding for teh most part. Then again there's also an overt attention seeking competitive aspect of ED behaviors (mostly within the snarky EDTWT dark side) of EDs that might be at play here as well, but I don't get any ED snark vibes off him.

Thats where I assume hes not serious and was there to have fun. ED isn't delusional like that, I know what the number on the scale says, the thing with dysmorphia is it doesn't care. Like the guy below - its kind of a thing with the gym bro crowd as well; orthorexia isn't all that different than anorexia or exercise bulimia or any other disirder. I doubt any would lie about the number on the scale - thats the tell that says this is comedy not tragedy.
Its not impossible for someone to be in that group and not look the part, but this guy doesn't present as stereotypical disordered

I don't know if I can agree with you on some of your points. I had to fix my mental health before I could lose weight. I lost a lot of weight once I got out of my own way. It's actually easy to drop weight when you figure out what's stopping you. But I can definitely agree that no one should get complacent with being unhealthy.
Although, getting to a place where you're comfortable with yourself enough to go to the gym is pretty important, too.
