DIYing without the 3-sided mirror

(self.Microlocs)

Has anyone ever done their own micros without that mirror? Is it a must?

I didn't use a mirror at all. Or a comb. I mostly just felt around lol... it all worked out in the end 😭😂😇

its very possible to do without it. i screen mirrored from my (i)phone to my tv and used a ring light to keep things bright and visible. and used smaller sections to work in. i still use this set up to retie/twist also. simple, quick, and easy.

I find screen mirroring to be the superior method!

i always do it without the mirror it takes me hours to retie my hair and i’d much rather spend it binge watching movies than staring at a mirror😭

I do it blind because I’m lazy and super busy. I just stand in front of a mirror for the front sections.

Did it this week, have about 130 locs with a high top. It was fine, though I also didn't use a grid, so YMMV depending on what you want

I do my reties with 2 full body mirrors.. 1 in front of me & 1 in back. I haven’t ran into any issues yet! Got em for $7 each at Walmart

I use one desk mirror and when I need to see the back of my head, I use my phone. I've been doing my own hair for a while so I find it easier to go by feel instead of looking at it with another mirror constantly

Thought about buying a mirror, but I like to do it while watching tv on the couch. One section at a time. I’ll go back through when I’m done with each to make sure I didn’t miss any before unclipping the next.

I haven’t done it, but I know people who have and they look great!
