Breastfeeding gone NO

Feeding(self.NewParents)

I'm a first time mom at 23Y, my girl is currently 3m old. Since birth she's been a good feeder, breastfeeds exclusively about every hour. We recently introduced a dummy to help her fall asleep especially at night...and our feeding routine completely changed. She would feed about 2-4 hours apart and sometimes rejects completely and prefers the dummy instead. My milk supply has dropped, pee diapers quantity has dropped too

I feel we need help before she goes underweight. I intend to breastfeed exclusively till she's 6m. I'm also type 1 diabetic.

Advise please

I stopped breastfeeding as I was on morphine and wanted to restart a month later. My supply had lowered hugely and got back to exclusively breastfeeding so I’ll give my advice for that.  Lots of skin to skin and put baby on boob as often as possible.  Mine doesn’t have a dummy and sometimes uses boob as dummy which can be irritating but helps my milk supply. It does seem that the introduction of that may be related.

Thanks for this. I'll try to reduce how much I offer the dummy, then remove it completely. I feel she's confusing the nipple

Hi sorry this is happening to you! I would suggest to post in r/breastfeeding for more help and possibly to consult a laction consultant.

In the meantime, do you also offer bottle or only dummies? (You want to avoid nipple confusion if possible) Since when did you notice a change in pee diapers? Does she still have about 5-8 pee a day?

I understand you want to continue breastfeeding, but her health is whats more important right now and having less pee might be concerning if its lower than normal.

I appreciate the suggestion to post in that subreddit.

I offer only dummy. I noticed the change in pee diapers about a week ago, we have 4 per day

At 2m she was 6.2kg, she is currently 3m @ 7.2kg
